Without him

sexual harassment, murder

the sun rose around 5AM, waking up the world along with it. the weather wasn't looking too good that day and what I have planned for this chapter isn't looking that good as well.

thank God for the day off, Hajime thought and got up. he caught up with the sleep he didn't get the night before.
his worries were somewhat pushed into the back of his head, now the only worry being is going back to work and facing Rantaro who'd definitely get suspicious.

Rantaro knows that Hajime doesn't get sick often, if so usually just during winter or early spring. but not when it's August.

Hajime stood in the bathroom, looking at the mirror whilst brushing his teeth. he was staring at his reflection with disgust, he looked awful.
the dark circles under his eyes were 10x more visible than before, his eyes were still slightly red from staying up all nights. his hair was messy, but what's new about that?
he spat the toothpaste-water mixture into the sink and washed the brush, trying to avoid looking up into the mirror.

he left the bathroom, still avoiding his reflection in the mirror. he then changed his clothes to a white plain turtleneck, some jeans and a zip-up sweater. he grabbed some socks and put them on as well.
his stomach was craving food, he hadn't eaten in a while.

Hajime sighed and grabbed his coat. after putting on his red converse, he left the apartment, locking it after he left. he ran downstairs and left the building.

outside was cloudy, sometimes a few raindrops fell, but if surely wasn't raining. the clouds covering the sun were dark gray, giving the whole city a dark shade. the people who walked past the brunet boy, seemed tired. more than half of those people were typing on their phones or pressing them against their ear while talking to the person on the other side.

the brunet entered a small coffee shop. warmth of the air hit him as soon as he entered, along with the soft smell of cinnamon, chocolate and coffee. the Café was stacked, all the seats were taken and a not so long waiting line was in front of the counter. the cashier along with the other employee looked stressed as they did their best to fulfill the customer's orders. in the bright white light, you could see the sweat on their foreheads as the cashier took the money, put them into the cash register and gave the customer change.

Hajime stood in the waiting line behind a girl with wavy blonde hair. she wore a long coat with black cargo pants reaching up to her waist.
ten minutes later, it was the girl's turn.

the cashier smiled weakly at the female before asking her about her order. she ordered and a couple of minutes later, she received her coffee and small pastry. the girl paid and thanked. she walked over to a table where were waiting two men, one of them had bright green hair, the other one had a hood on. the two males already had tall cups with dark brown coffee.

"hello, what would you like today?" the cashier asked and smiled.
Hajime placed his order and got it within two minutes.
he then began walking away, he was looking around, suddenly his eyes landed on the male with the hood.

their eyes met, it felt like in a cliché romcom. the time seemed to stop, they've just looked at each other for a split second. the moment was broken after the boy with the green hair began laughing at how lost the male with the hood seemed.

"are you even paying attention?" the boy asked while wheezing loudly. the girl from before giggled.

Hajime shook it off and left the coffee shop. a slight blush crept onto his cheeks, but it was cold that day, so that may be the cause.
