Chapter 20

Prom night. The night most girls dreamed of. The perfect night where they could dress up, hang out with friends and overall just enjoy themselves.

The night I was dreaming of this whole year.

When I first started here, I really thought I was just going to go with a few friends I would've made. But that didn't happen.

Jungkook asked me to be his date to the prom. I've got to give him props tho, it was perfectly orchestrated.

He made the teacher ask me to stay in after the bell for lunch so I was already in a bad mood when I got to lunch. But when I walked in, there was a big sign on the balcony which read: PROM?

So this is why I stayed in late, so he could finish setting up. A big smile crossed my face before I felt a tap on my shoulder. "So what do you say? Wanna go prom with me?"

"You idiot. Of course i would." He jumped on me, hugging me as tight as he could. "Y-you're strangling me-" he let go of me and we headed to our table. During the hour many people came up to us to congratulate me. It's not like I'm getting married but whatever. There were also many dirty looks thrown my way as well, but it's part of the package if you're gonna befriend jeon jungkook.

After getting ready with Dahyun and a few other friends, a limo came and picked us up. I mean, you have to hire an expensive car so why not a limo?

The venue was amazing. Lights lit up the pathway to the inside and there was a giant chocolate fountain inside. Classic. My smile wouldn't disappear.

Instead of jungkook bringing me there, we divided to just meet at the venue since both our schedules were hectic in their own way.

"You're looking amazing as usual." We both knew we liked each other, it was just that we were too scared to make anything official. I turned around to see jungkook in a suit that made him look really sexy.

See what I mean?!

Anyway, he escorted me into the main hall, and surprisingly I had a great time with him. I thought it would be so awkward but it was like 2 soulmates talking. The atmosphere was comfortable and it felt like nothing could go wrong.

Later that evening they announced after dinner that prom king and queen would be announced. We were still partying and having a blast. Singing out long until we lost our voices, Drinking all the non-alcoholic drink we could and talking to everyone to compliment them.

Dinner could approach quicker. By the time I had complimented about 100 people, I was famished. My throat was dry and my stomach was begging for food.

"Ooooh! Ribs!! My absolute favourite. I can't believe they would serve this at a senior prom." Dahyun looked absolutely gorgeous in that dress. The blue complimented her hair and eyes so much I could honestly stare at her forever. I guess someone else already was. Taehyung could barely keep his mouth closed the whole evening. It was hilarious. Thankfully though he managed to locate his jaw again and stuff into the ribs.

Just as we were about to finish, they announced that prom king and queen would be announced in 5 minutes so we had to hurry and got to the main floor.

"And the prom king and queen is.... LEE DAHYUN AND KIM TAEHYUNG!! CONGRATULATIONS! Come up here to receive your crowns."
"AHHHHH! I'm so happy for you! Go get your crown guys!!!!" I pushed dahyun a little for her to hurry up.

This was the moment I realised I didn't like taehyung anymore.

It was real progress I'm telling you.

"Woowwww!!  Your crown is so pretty!" I admired the accessory on her hair. "Uhm. Hello everyone can I have your attention please?"
Tina spoke. What did she want to say?
"I just want to show you guys something..." her voice extended, making it sound like an ellipsis in real life.

*Video playing*

Oh my god. The video was of me. It was a video of me at my old school, one of my worst memories from that hell hole was being showed. I didn't even know that it had been filmed!?

'Hey jungsoo~ come over here to sit with us.' The girl speaking in the video was Tina. You could hear the snickers between her and her friends. It then showed me. I walked along happy to have someone to sit with. All of a sudden, something stopped my steps. It was a foot- Tina's foot. It wasn't shown on the video but I remembered.

"Hey! Are you okay??" Jungkook grabbed my shoulders right after me tripping was shown on the smart board. It was humiliating! One of my most embarrassing moments shown to basically the whole year. I was stunned. I couldn't move. My eyes filled with tears as I faced jungkook. What would he think of me?? Would he stop hanging out with me? Would he stop liking me?

The food on my tray had spilled all over me. The girls were now mocking me in the video and 'helping' me up.

While everyone watched the end of the video and the whole hall erupted In laughs, I was dragged somewhere.

My final destination was the toilets. It was then where I burst into tears. When I cried, I didn't want to talk, I just wanted someone to hug me tightly. We stayed like that for a few minutes. As I cooled down, I looked up at his face. "I look horrible don't I?"
"No. You should look as beautiful as you did when you came in. Better even." He caressed my mascara-stained cheeks. "That bitch is going to pay for this." I could see him getting angry but before he could do anything, I stopped him by caressing his cheeks too. We just stared at each other for what felt like forever. "Stand up." He abruptly stood up. The cold air felt so foreign on my skin after feeling jungkooks body heat for so long.

I complied to his command and stood up. "What is it?"
"I've been wanting to do this for so long."
"Huh?" He got closer to me. It felt so natural for him to be so close to me. I had really grown close to him over these past few months and he just felt like home.

"Kim jungsoo, will you be my girlfriend?"

A/n: hi. It took me like a month and 5 days to write this cuz I'm lazy so enjoy ig. Sorry for many mistakes. Also if you are reading this please give feedback 😩😩 I need to know wether it's good or not bc I just read like 3 chapters and I find it boring...... so yh even criticism is fine I just need something.
