Chapter 9: ADVENTURER

Two months have passed the spar I had with Curtis ends in my favor since he just started to learn the basics. The king must have seen my potential as he tried to order me to stay and teach his son and be his sparring partner, but I lied to him that I have to get treatment since my body would have been broken before I even awakened as a mage.

Me beating Curtis seemed to have shattered his pride, and that made him more determined to beat me in a spar the next time we met. It still saddened him that we won't be able to see each other and hang out more.

My 9th birthday has passed two weeks ago and today is the day I become an adventurer. It's rather unfortunate that I still can't bring Daniel and the twins with me because they still had more to learn. Denise had been learning more about healing magic with mom helping her.
Delia and Daniels fire conjuring and augmentation has been useful especially the number of casualties happening in the Helstea Auction House has lessened. More particularly zero to none,with the people I've been training improving more than I had expected.

Going down the stairs wearing the nightmare fox coat, Dawn's Ballad along with another normal sword was strapped in either side of my waist belt. Beretta still in the dimension ring. My mask in hand seeing my parents and Ellie was waiting at the door.

"Look at you, already looking like an S-class adventurer" Dad kneels down to my height level as he patted and straightened my clothes.

"I know you're strong Arthur but don't get cocky and know your limits. And if things get rough out there trust in jasmine." Dad bumped his head to mine as he looked at me straight in the eyes with pride and worry lingering.

"Hmmmm I will"

Ellie had already known that I was leaving tugged at my coat bawling her eyes out. "No!! Are you and Sylvie really leaving?. Can't you stay?"

. In the corner of my eyes I see mom trying to hide her crying face, dad's face has tears welling in his eyes. Mom kneeled down rubbing her back to try and calm her down but to no avail.

"Ellie, Sylvie and your brother will be back before you know it"

"No! I want them to stay here. I want them here now" Ellie tried to pull me up the stairs and away from the door which failed miserably. Kneeling down in front of her as she let go of me and cried louder. I wiped the tears that gushed out of her eyes and put my hands in her cheeks making her teary eyes to look at me.

"I know you're a big girl and strong Ellie. I have an important job for you... Can you protect mom and dad while we're gone for abit Ellie" She didn't give me a reply as she hugged me tightly. "I've been practicing a lot I've got lots of little lights together now I can protect them" I hugged her tightly I have missed out so much in my sister's life and I know my short time wasn't good enough. But this is also a big step for me to protect all of them I have to. "As expected of my sister already strong and brave."

Giving my mother a glance. I released the hug on Ellie giving her a kiss on both of her cheeks and head and stood up. I gave my mother a much more tighter hug. "Don't give me that face Arthur we will be fine."

Looking at my mother's eyes again, I know what she's thinking about. The years of being king made me know what the person is thinking just by looking at their eyes. Mom is saddened by me not giving in to Eleanor's begging for me to stay. She thought that by Ellie I could give in and not go.

"Now off you go don't forget to keep your ring on." she smiled sadly as she pointed at the ring she's wearing on her hands, as an answer I raised my hand pointing at the ring. "I promise to keep the ring on at all times"

Turning to Ellie who was saying goodbye to Sylvie. "Ellie goodbyes are for people who you won't see anymore, so yeah, see you again and you better be in good health, don't let other boys near you okay?."
