After yesterday's fiasco, Remus still couldn't place his finger on who that boy was. It bothered him more than it admittedly should, but that was the thing with Remus, once he had an idea, or question, he wouldn't let it go until it was answered. He decided to take a walk; that could help clear his head, right?

Remus walked around the town, greeting people and keeping a warm smile on his face. He soon found his way closer to the castle than expected,  he hadn't noticed the path he had taken, and it wasn't until he heard a shrill shriek that he looked up. Someone - a servant from the castle he assumed - had slipped off a balcony, and was hanging onto the banister in an attempt to not fall. A book landed on the ground below them, which Remus assumed was the cause of their fall.

He didn't know what to do, this person was hanging off the balcony, god knows how high off the ground, and for some reason only Remus was around to see. When he noticed the person's grip loosening, and their hands start to slip, Remus took action. He quickly outstretched his hand in front of him, sending a flurry of green flames towards the person as they fell.

The flames gently set the person on the ground, they were safe and had nothing but a slight graze on their hand from it slipping off the balcony.

"Damn kid... You okay?" Remus asked, looking at the person in front of him. They had their head down, eyes wide as they looked around, ignoring Remus' question. It wasn't until they finally looked up to meet Remus' eyes that they spoke.

"You're a warlock!"

"You're a prince!"

The two yelled simultaneously.

Remus quickly hushed the prince in front of him, putting a finger to the other's lips. "You can't go yelling that!" He exclaimed in a hushed voice. "Do you want me arrested after I just saved your god damn life?"

"You seem to be forgetting who you are talking to," The prince spoke. "after all I could have you arrested simply for being this close to the castle." Remus looked at the boy in front of him, he noticed the square-framed glasses perched on his nose, scanning his face. The prince showed no recognition of teasing or joking about, he had an eyebrow raised and seemed relatively calm after literally just falling from his balcony. His blue eyes pierced Remus', and Remus could have sworn he had seen this boy before.

"You're that boy from the bookshop..." He recalled, taking a small step back, "That's how I knew you, you're a fucking prince- oh my god!"

The prince before him watched as he silently freaked out, a slightly amused smile on his face as he listened to Remus' rambling. Remus' hands flew around wildly as he spoke, words coming out a mile a minute it wasn't until the other cleared his throat that he stopped dead in his tracks.

"Shit- uh... Logan, right...?" Remus guessed, he had two choices - Logan or Virgil - but he couldn't remember Virgil ever wearing glasses, or being this calm.

Logan simply nodded, holding his hand out for Remus to shake. "Thank you for saving me, Mr...?"

"Duke," Remus finished for him, taking his hand and shaking it, "But Remus is fine."

"If you insist. Anyway, I must be going, would you mind uh.." Logan gestured vaguely to the balcony, "my mother would figuratively kill me if she caught me sneaking in."

"Oh I'm not really sup- well... I suppose it couldn't hurt," Remus reasoned with himself, "You won't... tell on me will you?"

"Of course not, that is no way to repay someone who just saved my life!" Logan exclaimed, "I really do mean it, thank you... your secret is safe with me."

Remus smiled and nodded, before waving his hand and sending another fluffy of flames towards Logan, lifting him up onto the balcony. He bowed slightly mockingly as they bid their goodbyes, Logan rolling his eyes and walking back into his room. Remus began to walk away, before noticing the book on the floor, he went to call up to Logan but stopped upon noticing the doors to his balcony were closed. The warlock decided to pick up the book and take it home, deciding that he could return it another day.

The walk home we spent feeling giddy, Remus' question had finally been answered, and he had to admit that the secret of using his magic made a grin appear on his face. He skipped through the door, Logan's book clutched in his hands as he walked into the living room, where Janus was sat on the couch, their own book rested in their lap. Remus' energy caused Janus to look up, gazing at their friend with a perplexed look on their face.

"What's got you so... excited?" They asked as Remus plopped onto the couch next to them.

"Nothiinngg," Remus giggled, laying back with his feet on the coffee table.

"Obviously something happened, and get your feet off the table, we put food on there," Janus scorned, ignoring the whine from Remus as he took his feet down. In response to Janus' original question, Remus simply waved the book he had picked up, a wide grin on his face. "Well done, you finally started reading," Janus responded offhandedly. Remus' face fell at his friend's comment.

"No, idiot! Its prince Logans!"

Janus spat out the tea they had been sipping, successfully soaking their lap and part of the current page they were reading. "You what!?" They exclaimed loudly, putting down their book and tea.

"Yeah I like, saved him or whatever today," Remus commented as though it was nothing, "using my magic."

Janus choked once again, "using your what? Remus you know that's illegal! What would have happened if you got-"

"-Caught, yeah yeah I know, don't worry no one saw, only Logan, and he said he wouldn't tell."

A deep sigh left Janus' lips as they picked their book back up, "Just be careful, and return that book, it belongs to royalty."

A giggle escaped Remus' lips, hugging the book to his chest, he chose to ignore Janus rolling their eyes as he stood up, skipping back to his bedroom and placing the book on his bedside table. He flopped onto his bed, a wide grin on his face as he imagined the next interaction he would have with prince Logan.
