I know its really late- I apologise-

Less than 48 hours remained until Remus' trial - he and Logan had headed up to bed, leaving Janus alone with their wine, and fell asleep together, Logan reluctantly allowing Remus to put an arm around him.

Today, they would resume the experiments with Remus' magic. Logan sat on the bed, notebook in hand as he watched Remus cast a few flourishes of magic.

Bursts of green flames were appearing left and right, each completing their own tasks as Remus controlled each of them with his hands. A few burst into an array of sparkle, others fizzled out until they were nothing more than a handful of ashes on the floor (which Remus quickly cleared up with a wave of his hand).

Logan watched in awe at the warlocks abilities, quickly scribbling things down as they happened. His hand never cramped, moving quickly across the page, eyes never leaving Remus.

A grin spread onto the warlock's face as he glanced at Logan, before bringing his hands down. Flames circled Logan, spiralling up him before hovering around his waist and pulling him up.

"I wanna show you something," Remus said as Logan stood up on his feet. "And leave the notebook, this is for your eyes only," he said cheekily.

Logan placed his notebook and pen down on the bedside table, before turning back to Remus who had his hand outstretched to the Prince. He took his hand hesitantly, and with a flurry of green, they were in pitch black.

"Remus, where are we?" Logan said, his voice hushed as he gripped onto the warlock.

"Nowhere," Remus began, "and also a bit of everywhere."

Although no one could see it, Logan's eyes widened, "what's that supposed to mean?!"

Remus laughed softly as he pulled Logan closer, "it means we haven't moved, I've just made it dark."

Logan groaned and gently hit Remus' chest, however staying close as he tried to adjust to the pitch-black room.

With a slight wave of Remus' hand, the room lit up with a multitude of lights all swirling around in patterns around them. Upon further inspection, Logan recognised them as stars, all making up miniature solar systems and constellations.

He watched in awe as small planets orbited around them, eyes glistening as he gazed at the sight in front of him. He turned slowly, watching in amazement at the miniature solar system that surrounded him.

"Remus this is... woah..." The Prince muttered, awestruck. He couldn't take his eyes off of the wonder before him, not noticing the fond smile that played on Remus' lips.

They spent a while finding constellations, logan bouncing to different parts of the room and showing Remus how the different lights connected.

The information went past Remus, who couldn't help but primarily focus on the way Logan's hands moved excitedly as he spoke, or how his eyes reflected nothing but wonder and the stars.

He felt a pain in his chest when he realised he had only a few hours over a day with this man. The Prince who had shown him nothing but kindness and pure respect. He had grown fond of him, enjoying Logans company in a way he hadn't done so before.

The warlock couldn't help but think that Logan was probably just feeling sorry for him - he was just a charity case for this Prince, intending to make his last days special before moving on as if he didn't know him. His chest felt heavy, but he simply brushed it off in favour of watching Logan giddy smile.

"And this... this is Canis Major, made of a selection of stars including 'Sirius' which-..." Logan continued to ramble about the constellation, talking about its Latin meaning and its origins. He only paused when he felt Remus staring at him, pausing mid-sentence to look up at the warlock.

"What...?" He said softly, peering up at the other through his eyelashes.

Remus giggled softly and shrugged, "nothing."

"No seriously... why are you looking at me," the Prince replied shyly.

"I just like listening to you talk, it's cute."

The bold words from the warlock made Logans face flush - he was grateful for the darkness of the room, though the glow from the stars allowed Remus to see a hint of pink dusted over his face.

Remus giggled, stepping closer to the other who gazed up at him. They stood close to each other, hands at their sides awkwardly until Logan's hands found themselves rested on Remus' chest.

Remus pulled Logan closer, gently pulling him in by the waist and resting his hands there. Stars circled them, softly lighting up their faces with a dim orange glow. Logan's lips were parted as he looked up at the warlock through half-lidded eyes.

"Remus can you turn the lights back on?!" Janus suddenly called from outside the door.

Remus groaned and stepped back, waving his hand to allow light back into the house, simultaneously extinguishing the miniature solar system that surrounded them.

"Thank you!" Janus sang as they walked away.

"Fuck you!" The warlock sarcastically sang back, before turning his attention back to Logan. "They're a dick," he said simply.

Logan chuckled and sat down on the bed, blinking as he adjusted to the light. "They seem sweet, Patton sure thinks so."

Remus giggled as he plopped down next to Logan, relatively close as he gazed at the Prince.

"Tell me about him," the warlock suggested, "I've heard stuff from Jan, but wanna hear from you."

Logan chuckled, hands resting in his lap, "he's sweet, very sweet, and my best friend. He's been my assistant in the castle for a few years now, and before that, we were close friends. There is no one I would rather have protecting me than Patton."

Remus could tell Logan really cared for his friend as he continued to talk about him. The warlock didn't mind listening as long as it meant he didn't have to do the talking, and he could listen to Logan's voice all day.

"We met about 12 years ago. I had been walking around the town with my mother and managed to lose sight of her. I stumbled into Patton and he helped me find my way back to her, I made sure to protect him as he had me, and he became my closest friend."

As he continued to listen to the prince, Remus shifted to be paying down, his head rested on Logan's lap. Logan glanced down at the warlock, before shrugging it off to continue his thought.

"Do you have someone like that? A best friend?" The shorter male said softly, subconsciously running his fingers through the Warlocks hair as he had done so many times before with Patton.

Remus was silent for a few moments, allowing the question to settle in the air, Logan was about to speak before Remus finally replied. "I used to," He began, "He... passed away a few years ago."

Logan looked down at the other, an unreadable expression on his face, "I'm... so sorry..."

"It wasn't your fault..." Remus shrugged, "Don't worry about it, yeah?"

Logan sighed softly before reluctantly agreeing and leaning back on his hands.
