Chapter 31: Misunderstanding

I was awoken by the ringing sound. So, I lazily cracked my eyes open only for me to find out, it's still dawn. The whole room was still dim as the sun is slowly peeking. To my annoyance, I harshly propped up my shoulders out of the bed and grabbed my phone on the side table.

As I was about to get out of the bed, unfortunately, I got entangled on the blanket making me fall on the cold, hard floor.

I shrieked in an unexplainable pain I've felt. It was a strange feeling the moment my buttocks landed on the floor. And it shocks me the most as I realized my nakedness underneath the blanket. I felt sore down there.

I bit my lower lip as the scene from last night came flashing back on my mind. So, it really happened?

Yesterday, after work Gadiel fetched me again at the company. He said he'll take me somewhere and that he'd prepared a surprise too. It turns out, he arranged a simple yet romantic date inside his condo. A dinner date indeed... and I was the happiest.

Now, I wonder how and why did we end up each other's dinner? On that night, hymns of fire, pleasure and love reigned this place.

Ang muling pagtunog ng telepono ko ang nakapagpabalik sa 'kin sa wisyo. I may be limping like a zombie still I forced myself to wear the clothes I saw on the couch. A long sleeve polo that falls down on my knees and a cycling shorts. And tied my hair to a bun. Okay na rin, mamaya ko na siguro hahanapin ang damit ko.

Pagsipat ko sa telepono ko ay hindi na ako nagulat sa maraming mensahe at missed calls. Sino ba naman ang hindi uulanin ng ganito kung bigla na lang akong nawala kahapon nang wala ni kahit isa sa pamilya ko ang nakakaalam at ipinaalam ko kung saan at sino ang kasama ko. Alright, it's my fault here! Pero nasaan na nga ba si Gadiel?

Hindi kaya... iniwan na naman niya ako gaya ng dati? Please, no. Not again!

Naisantabi naman ang pangamba ko nang tumunog ulit ang telepono ko para sa isang tawag. Walang pagda-dalawang isip ko na iyong sinagot.

"Hello bebe... saan ka na naman ba nagpunta? Everyone's so worried about you. Did something happened? Should I book a flight now? Tell me, I'll come back for you..." malumanay ngunit mababakasan ng pag-aalala ang boses niya sa kabilang linya.

Maarte naman akong napairap kahit na hindi niya naman nakikita. Hanggang sa marinig ko ang mahina niyang pagtawa.

"I know you're rolling your eyes on me again, bebe." He chuckled.

"I'm fine, Irold..." I smiled.

"Oh? That's good to hear. Akala ko mapapauwi na ako ng wala sa oras."

Ako naman ang napatawa ngayon habang siya naman ay biglang natahimik sa kabilang linya.

"Ang OA mo talaga! It's not like I've been missing for how many months. So, chill. I'm safe... and happy right now. Don't worry anymore, okay?"

I heard him heaved a sigh.

"Alright. But please, inform Tito Rico and the others so that they'll be assured that you're safe. Or I'll just inform them for you?"

"Thanks, Irold but it's okay. I'll do it by myself. Tsaka hoy, 'wag mo na akong tawagan baka mamaya ako pa maging dahilan ng paghihiwalay niyo ni Fantine!" Humagalpak lang sa tawa si Irold.

"Sus, selos ka na naman bebe. Hayaan mo dadalasan ko na ang pagtawag sa 'yo." Tawa niya.

"Yucks, kahit 'wag na! Ba-bye na ng--"

"Teka lang! Tingnan mo naman 'to si bebe parang hindi ako naging crush noon e. Tsk."

"Wow. Now, you have the audacity to brag my fondness of you before? Tingnan mo nga naman 'tong torpe noon oh?" pang-asar pa akong tumawa.
