Charles POV

I'm so happy that Madison has forgiven me. It makes me feel good. I'm also glad that her husband has given a job, which I appreciate.

I'm getting ready for work now and to be honest, I really like working for Eric. He's cool and so is his dad, but fuck with their women, is a wrap!

As I walk into the building I see Madison and Eric talking. I busy myself by walking around the building.

Mr. McKnight finds me and says "get your happy ass to work before I tell my son."

I laugh and follow him to Eric's office. This time Madison is gone.

"Hey son," his dad says. "I caught his ass slacking around."

Eric looks from me to his dad and chuckles. Are you two packed for the trip tomorrow?"

"No."

"Hell yes! Your damn mom has been threatening to rape me if I didn't go away from the house for a while."

Eric and I look at each other and shake our heads.

"Dad post of me believes I get everything I from you, but the way you talk about mom, I'm leaning more towards her."

"Aww, thank ya son! Bless your heart. But I'm serious. Yo momma is something else."

"Yeah, Maddie is too."

"Y'all ain't fucked in a bit, huh?"

I'm just sitting here looking back and forth between them.

"Dad!"

"Sorry not sorry!"

I grab a stack of papers to start sorting to busy myself.

Eric's POV

I don't know what it is, but Madison didn't look so well when Charles approached us.

I'll figure it out when I see her again. Dad noticed too. When Charles was out of ear shit, he asked me "what's wrong with daughter-in-law? I'll beat some ass behind her!!"

I simply throw my shoulders up.

I'm not the type to not ask questions if I want to know, so I say "Charles, what really happened between you and my wife?"

"Oop! Looks like some people in trouble need interference!" My dad says and leaves my office.

Charles looks hesitant for a while. Something flashes in his eyes. Regret? Sadness?

"It's okay. I won't fire you or have my dad shoot you." He sat down, still looking hesitant.

"Go ahead."
