Danielle's POV
I'm at school with Jr and Kayden. We're all eating breakfast together.
"Danni!"
"What's up June Bug?"
"Uh.... Don't call me that." Jr says. Kayden and I laugh.
"Did you're dad ever say why he left? We're here for you!" Both of them hug me.
"Not necessarily. I'm guessing that's what he's going to tell me when I get the chance to visit him."
"Our behinds are coming with you just in case we need to pop a cap."
"That ain't you Jr. That's more of Kayden." I look at Kayden to see him stuffing his face with eggs and pancakes.
"Don't underestimate him Danni. He's little, but he can do some damage."
"Hey," Jr says. Kayden gets up and runs to the trash. "You better run brother!"
I fall off the chair laughing at them.
"You good Danni?"
"Yep! Let's go to class." Both of us walk to class. Kayden is already seated in his desk.
The teacher comes in. Class starts.

Kayden and I are watching Jr run in circles before we have to go inside for naptime.
"Your brother if funny Kayden."
"Tell me about it." All the kids are going inside now, so we follow.
Nap time, the heat got to me!
.....
"Jr, Kayden, and Danielle your ride is here."
I guess she learned how to properly talk to us after TT Madison. I see my dad and we all run to him.
"Uncle Twent!" Kayden and Jr say.
"Hey kiddos."
"
"Danni, your dad has requested you for dinner at his home if you want to go."
"Food? Yes. Dad? Super yes!"
"Let's go. Jr and Kayden are staying with you."
"Told you Danni!" They say.
........
"Dad," I say. "What really happened between you and mom?"
"You sure you want to know?"
"Yep. She can't hurt you or me anymore."
"She'd constantly abuse me physically."
Oh, damn!
I want raised to hit women, so I never thought back, I just left every time it happened. She'd get mad at you, but I would direct her anger back at me.
"I will admit that I didn't want to come back, but we had you and you're the reason I stayed so long."
"Aww, don't cry damnit?" Jr says.
"Hush Jr. This getting good." Kayden says.
"Danni," he says. "The night a gun,a knife, and her brothers were involved was the last night I saw you."
I hug him tight. He starts crying.
"I promised you if come back for you, but I had to get myself together. Your mother didn't want to sign the adoption papers, so I had to get that signature for you one way or the other."
"Thanks dad. Where's she at?"
"Jail is all I know. It's taken a long time to forgive her and myself."
"Dad. Thanks for coming to my party."
"I don't break my promises kiddo. Now you're with these two goofballs. I'm proud of you for hanging in there Danni. I love you."
"Love you too Dad!" I say.
I hear sniffles and look at Kayden. He and Jr are crying.
"He made a pimp cry." Kayden says. My dad and I laugh.
"Thanks for the truth too."
We all hug my dad.
"Who's hungry?" He asks.
"Me!"the three of us say. My dad calls for pizza.
.....
"Thanks again dad," I hug him one last time before getting into the car.
"I'll see you around Danni. Jr and Kayden take care of my girl."
"You got it boss."
We drop the boys off and go home."
I'm happy!
