Dipper POV
I'm day dreaming about what my first date will be like, when all of the sudden Stan calls my name. I rush downstairs to see him and Wendy. Uh oh, this can't be good.
When Stan walks away, I finally greet Wendy.
"Come in!" I say. "Hopefully Stan didn't talk to you too long."
"Nah, it's all good. What movie are we watching?" She asks.
"We watched Nearly Almost Dead but Not Quite the other day, so how about Attack of the Exclamation Points for today?" I ask.
"Sounds perfect to me!" She replies, and with that we head upstairs to my room.
I lay down on my stomach, and pat the space next to me for her to lay on. Her hair is so pretty right now, the sunlight is coming through the window at such an angle, it makes her hair look golden.
I hit the play button on the remote, and the movie starts.
"Ahh watch out!" One of the bad actors screams. "There's an exclamation point behind you!"
The movie was really bad. Something about the exclamation points coming out when you don't use them in a sentence properly. They seek revenge and jump out at you to scare you.
However, I didn't pay much mind to the movie. I couldn't take my thoughts, and eyes, off of Wendy.
Once the movie ended, Wendy looked out the window.
"Ugh, it is dark out." She comments.
"What's the matter?" I ask
"Well remember how I was saying that I was going to walk here? I didn't bring a flashlight. And I can't really walk in the dark to my house. There's so many trees." She says.
"I could walk you home?" I say. I really wanted to suggest that she just crashes here, because Mabel is gone. She could take her bed, but wouldn't that be a very awkward thing to say on your first date?
"Then you'll have to walk back alone. Do you mind if I just crash here?" She asks
Because Wendy asked and not me, I agreed.
"Sure!" I say "You can take Mabel's bed. I'm going to go brush my teeth, I'll be right back."
"Okay!" She says.
I go into the bathroom, brush my teeth, take my vest and hat off, then go back to my room.
"Are you up for an episode of Ductective or Tiger Fist?" She asks once I return to the room.
"Sure!" I reply.
We both sit on my bed again. As I turn on the tv, she tells me which channel.
"I believe it's channel 36" she says.
I turn to the channel and sure enough, Ductective is on.
"Thanks" I say, turning towards her.
Just then, she leans in towards me. I think she's going in for a kiss, so I lean in too. What happens next happened so fast. First, I kiss her, but on the cheek. How did that happen?
That's when I realize she wasn't leaning in, but turning around to get her phone from her pocket. It must've buzzed while I turned the channel. Ugh, how could I screw this up more?
"Um" I say, dumbfounded "I-I'm sorry, I-I thought that, well you know. Um, maybe I'm not in the mood for another episode."
She laughs "Don't worry about it, man."
But I can't get it out of my head. How could I be so ignorant. I lay back on my bed and stare at the ceiling.
Just then, she lays back too, and turns off the tv. I turn my head and look at her. She stares back.
"This was a fun date." She says.
"Yeah, I agree. I still can't believe that this is happening though. I always thought that my crush on you would turn out bad in the end." I reply
"Yeah, I never really imagined dating you until the other day. I knew you had a crush on me, I just didn't think you'd have the courage to ever tell me." She replies. "Or that I would ever have the courage to accept."
"Yeah, it took a lot of courage. But it was worth it now. Mabel was right, I do feel better now that I told you." I laugh.
"I'm getting tired, time to hit the hay?" She asks.
"Sure!" I reply. And with that, she stands up, and walks to Mabel's bed. However, she stops, turns around and comes back to me. She leans down, and this time I know she's going for a kiss. I sit up and we kiss on the lips for at least five seconds; the best five seconds of my life.
