Dipper POV
By the time Wendy wakes up, the sun is shining through her bedroom window. She sits up quickly.
"Ahh!" She screams, rubbing her eyes, "oh Dipper! I forgot you slept over here tonight. That scared me at first!" She says, laughing
"Ha, ya sorry! I've been awake I just didn't want to wake you. Want to go to the Shack for breakfast?" I ask
"Sure! What do you have planned for today?"
"I was thinking we could take a walk in the woods! Sound okay?"
"Sounds perfect!" She confirms.
We get dressed and head over to the shack. Luckily, Wendy doesn't have to work this week because I told Stan we'd be hanging out a lot.
"So, I guess we fell asleep during Cashwheel, huh?" She asks me
"Yeah, don't tell Mabel though! I promised her we'd be sleeping in separate beds!" I laugh and she does too.
"Okay. That's funny that she made you promise that."
"Ya..." I trail off, "Wendy, I don't want this summer to end. I don't know how I'll be able to go back to California and live my life without you." I blurt
She stops in front of me and crouches to my height. "I know, Dip, but we can't make this summer any longer." She then looks in my eyes as we lean in towards one another and kiss.
As our kiss continues, I go over her last words. We can't make this summer any longer. Or can we? I decide to think about this later.
Once we arrive, I find Mabel in the kitchen. I ask her how her sleepover was and she says it was fantastic. She then returns the question and I reply with the same answer.
"Different beds, right?" She asks
I clear my throat knowing that Mabel would've found out anyway.
"Dipper! What did I tell you! Separate beds! Always!" She says
"It's not what it sounds like! You're making a big deal out of nothing! Wendy and I were watching Cashwheel and we fell asleep on her bed! Nothing more, nothing less!" I defend myself
"Good, but never again!" She finishes
Wendy and I then grab breakfast (aka two granola bars) and go back outside to enjoy our walk.
"After our walk we should head our separate ways. I'm wiped." She says
"Me too."
We enter the Gravity Falls Forest and observe it's scenery. The birds are chirping as the sun shines through the evergreen forest. The shadows dance on the ground as the wind shuffles the various pine needles and leaves around.
I inhale deeply, lost in thought.
Wendy looks down at me and smiles. She then runs ahead of me and I watch in curiosity. She stops suddenly at a nearby tree.
"Recognize this?" She asks
I walk next to her and look around. It takes me a second to realize we're standing by the tree that leads into the bunker. I laugh and sit on the log where Wendy and I had once talked about our relationship. She had denied me, and without realizing it I began to frown.
Wendy notices and sits next to me.
"There's no need to frown. I made a mistake, and I see that now. I won't ever deny our chances again."
I begin to smile as we stare at one another. We lean in for a kiss. All of my thoughts turn towards wishing I could show the old me how my crush on Wendy really turns out. The old me that was unable to speak. The old me that was scared, shy, anxious, and itchy around Wendy. The old me that was broken hearted that Wendy had denied me.
That old me would love to see new me, kissing my old crush and new girlfriend.
Our kiss ends and we decide to continue walking.
We talk, and laugh, and race each other to different spots in the woods. Eventually we decide to mark the point that we will start to head back to the shack at. But first we rest.
The spot is a field with soft, tall grass, yellow flowers, and some shade providing pine trees.
I lay down with a huff, as Wendy lays down also. We look up at the clouds in between the evergreen branches.
"That one looks like a chipmunk!" I exclaim
An airplane flies through the chipmunk's mouth. We both laugh as Wendy says
"barfing an airplane"
We continue to look at clouds and talk to one another. We eventually decide to head back to the Shack. On the way there we talk
"What do you have planned for tomorrow, Dip?" She asks
"I was thinking that Soos, Mabel, you and I could all go on a mystery hunt. Sound okay?"
"Sounds perfect! What are we exploring?" She asks
"I'm not sure yet. Got any suggestions?"
"Maybe we can learn how all of that Time Travel works? I've always wanted to see my friends in the past. And my mom." She pauses, deep in thought before saying "It's so sad how time can take such precious things away from you."
"I do still have the Time Tape Measurer. The only thing is I don't know how many people we can bring on a trip like that. The more people, the more it messes up the present." I comment
"I would like to be able to use the Time Machine once before you leave though. I'm curious how it works." She says
"Ya, I can show you before I leave." I say
We arrive at the shack around 2, and we both decide we're tired from last night. She decides to go home and I decide to go to my room.
"Bye Dip." Wendy says
"Bye Wendy!" I reply. We kiss, wave goodbye, and then go our separate ways.
