Dippers POV

In my hand I hold the tape measurer that allows me to travel to any time I wish.

"This" I tell Wendy

I look up at her face. She's shocked and a little confused.

"If I just set this to the beginning of the summer, we can spend more time together as a couple. Think of it! The whole summer we can be together! Plus, I can find the journal sooner and discover more mysteries! It will benefit others too! I can ask you out before you date Robbie. Then I can get Robbie and Tambry together sooner! Plus Mabel will have another shot at summer romances! There are so many positive things that this can do!" I explain

She smiles, but then frowns

"Are you sure this is a good idea? What if it messes something up in the timeline?"

"I already calculated everything," I say, pulling out the notes I had taken earlier, "if I travel in exactly 13 minutes, right when the sun is setting, the timeline won't be affected. Trust me, it'll work out."

"What if Blendin finds out?" She asks

"He already talked to me. If I travel solo, the time anomaly removal crew won't take notice to it." I reply

"Okay! I think you should do it! But if I forget summer, how will you be able to convince me to go out with you? It will still be my uncertain self."

"I'll do what I did in this timeline. I'll ask you "why does age matter. It's just a number?". Who knows, you may even remember me saying that in this timeline. But for right now, we only have a few more minutes together. Let's make them last." I say

"I love you." She says and leans in again for our second kiss of the night. Except, this time it doesn't end until my watch beeps telling me it's time to leave, 13 minutes later.

"Well, Wendy, this is goodbye. I will see you in literally a few seconds. But you won't know me. I love you!" I say with tears in my eyes.

"Goodbye, Dip" she replies

I grab my luggage that I brought to the picnic and put on my old hat so past Mabel won't be confused. I then pull out the tape measurer to two months and 14 days earlier, the beginning of the summer. I look up at her teary eyed face, show a weak smile, and click the button.

Everything turns into a bright flash and fades to the woods a few months earlier. I sprint to the Mystery Shack and see Mabel looking around. She's wearing her star sweater that she wore the first day we arrived.

"Dipper! There you are! We got off of the bus and you disappeared! Where'd you go?" She asks me, "and have you been crying?"

"Oh... um," I think of a lame excuse, "I just needed to pee really badly! Sorry! And yes! These are tears of relief!" I say and she laughs.

We then open the door to the shack. Sitting in front of the register is Wendy. I smile, then sigh realizing she doesn't know who I am. Mabel notices the way I'm looking at her.

"She is pretty, isn't she? You've got a crush don't you?" Mabel asks

"Ya, I do." I admit

"She looks a little old for you. Don't you think?" Mabel says

"Ya, but age is just a number." I reply
