Dipper POV

I spend all of the next morning getting ready for my date with Wendy. She told me that I could pick where we go for our 'last day' together. I instantly grabbed my journal and found a spot in the Gravity Falls Forest that is perfect for a picnic for two.

According to the picture and description, it is the "perfect place to get away from society. With no monsters or beasts, including other people, this place is where I enjoy writing these journals. A river winding around a forest with a small clearing in the middle creates a scenic, almost romantic, mood."

I didn't tell Wendy where we would be going, however. I decided that to get the full romantic affect, I'd have to keep it a secret.

I throw on my usual clothes, but add a bow tie for looks. I then head downstairs to pack the picnic and get some breakfast.

I eat another bowl of cereal, and then make some peanut butter and jelly sandwiches: Wendy's favorite. I grab a few bags of chips and some waters before leaving.

"Oh wait! I almost forget!" I say, rushing back upstairs. I grab a few more things from my room. Things I need to carry out my plan.

On my way to the forest, I bump into Mabel.

"Hey bro bro! Ready for your date?" She asks

"Ya! I'm kinda nervous though." I reply

"Don't be! It's just Wendy!" She says

"I know. That's not what I'm nervous about... it's just that," I look around before continuing, "my plan may go wrong."

"I bet whatever this plan is will go perfectly. Just don't overthink it!" She assures

"Okay. Thanks Mabel!" I reply and give her a big hug

"Woah! Cool it bro! You're acting like you'll never see me again!" She exclaims before walking into the shack

"I might not." I whisper, once she's out of earshot.

I continue to walk until I reach the clearing. I came half an hour early to set up for the picnic. The weather is beautiful! Blue skies with a few puffy clouds in the sky. Couldn't have asked for a better day.

The clearing is even more beautiful then the description in the journal. Everything's just as described but seeing it here in real life makes it all the better!

I place the picnic blanket down and put the sandwiches, chips, and waters out. I continue to set up when I hear foot steps walking towards me.

I look up and see my beautiful red headed girlfriend standing before me in her usual outfit.

"Oh my gosh! This is awesome! I wouldn't have found this place if it weren't for you directions! No wonder it's so pretty, no other people come here!" She exclaims

I laugh and signal her to sit on the blanket with me.

We laugh and talk as we eat our lunch.

"This peanut butter and jelly sandwich is amazing. And Doritos? You know me too well!" She says, smiling

"Haha! Ya, I had to make this last day perfect!" I reply

"Well you pulled it off!" She exclaims

There's an awkward silence and I look up at Wendy. Her expression reads that she has something to say but is just finding the right words to say it. Finally the silence is broken.

"Hey, Dipper. Listen I have to tell you a few things. At the beginning of the summer when I realized you had a crush on me, I totally just ignored it. It was so obvious you liked me, anyone could tell! Yet, I still dated Robbie and ignored your feelings. I'm sorry about that. I even played with your emotions while I was dating Robbie! I would flirt with you and toy with your feelings because I thought it was entertaining. That was just wrong and I'm sorry. I thought we would never be a couple. I doubted our relationship even before you told me you liked me. I'm sorry for that too. I denied you at the bunker. All of these things I wish I could take back, but I can't. I just need to be honest and tell you this. I'm so sorry." She finishes, still looking into my eyes.

"Oh my gosh, Wendy, I had no idea. I never knew you felt bad about any of this. Don't worry about it though! I don't care about any of that. I only care that we are a couple now. And we will stay a couple. I love you, Wendy." I reply

She smiles and leans in. We kiss for a long time before she breaks off and replies "I love you too. And I always have. I just never realized what I felt until a few weeks ago."

"While we are confessing stuff, I have something I need to tell you. It's a secret but you won't have time to tell anyone else so it doesn't matter." I start

She gets a look of concern on her face.

"No don't worry it's not bad! It's just a thing I need to tell you. For a while, I've been thinking about ways we can stay together the rest of the year. And I'm not talking video chat or anything. I mean stay together in person. And so I got an idea. It's kind of dangerous but I think it'll work." I continue

"What is it?" She asks

I pull out the device I need and show it to her.

"This"
