Steves POV

I didn't bother mining last night. I went straight home. My mind raced all night, so today I'm making my way to Notch's palace. I need to know why he ignored this dangerous threat, and why my name was brought up.
As I enter the castle, his guards bring me to his throne room.
"Ah, Steve! What brings you here my boy?"
"I need to talk to you..."
"Whatever about?"
My voice lowers.
"It's about...HIM..."
Notch immediately sent the guards out. Once we were alone, he approached me, a worried tone to his voice.
"What did he do to you? Did he hurt you? What did he say?"
This is...awkward.

"Herobrine...slung me against a hill, and he said I was...cute."
The words mumbled out in embarrassment.
Notch growled lowly, obviously unhappy.
"Oh course he did."
"Um...Notch...why did you deny his existence, and how does he know me?"
I hear a faint sigh before Notch takes a seat.
"Come, sit."
I do as he says.
"Steve, I denied his existence because I never wanted him to exist and I never wanted you to know so that you'd be safe. If you go after him, he will kill you. You are the first human I've created, besides the villagers of course."
I question him.
"I don't understand...why don't you just kill him? You are a god after all."
Notch sighs again.
"Herobrine is a god too...In fact, he's my brother. Therefore, I can't defeat him, just like he cannot defeat me."
I feel disturbed. The man I trust the most, the man who created this world, the man who created me, this man was hiding these important details all along.
Even though I feel disgusted, I respectfully nod, and stand to my feet.
"Steve, for your safety, stay away from him. Run, hide, come to my palace if you must. Just don't let him take you to the dark side."

I smile.
"Don't worry Notch. I will never become anything like him. I was created by you after all."
