*steves POV*

I'm in shock. The worst part is I cannot stop the tears from rolling down my face. I have no time to waste. If Notch kills him today, I will never be able to move on. He's been the center of my world ever since I met him.
He cannot die.
He's my hero.
I dash out of the castle. I search for what feels like hours. Fire has scorched my skin, and burned bits of my clothing. Finally as I climb up the souls-sand, I see the two of them. Notch has shot him so many times that he's just barely holding on. Herobrine has purple and black flames in various spots, probably attempting to shoot Notch at random moments. Notch has fire marks like I do. His cape has been burned half way, and he has various cuts on his body just like Herobrine.
I watch as they fight. Punching, shooting, and all sorts of magic spells are being thrown at each other. After Herobrine gets a few good punches in, Notch shoots him across the soul-sand. Herobrine grabs his gut and shakes a bit as he lays flat. I need to do something. I pick up red-stone and quickly bash Notch in the back of his head before he shoots Herobrine again.
Notch turns to face me, his eyes wide.
"S-Steve?"
"Stop it! Both of you!"
Both eyes are on me as I point a finger at Herobrine.
"You! Stop trying to be the king of the Minecraft World! You're my hero, so start acting like it. Notch will and can kill you, so just be happy you're even still in this world. And you!"
I point at Notch.
"You are our king, so act like it! Listen to your subjects and stop trying to kill Herobrine. I need him."

I pant as I finish my words, and Notch sets a hand on my shoulder.
"You're right. If Herobrine will stop these battles, I will stop hunting him down."
I nod as he walks past me, summoning the army to return to the over-world.
Herobrine struggles to stand, and once he does he hugs me. I feel at home. I feel at peace.
He kisses me softly, white eyes glowing. We return to the castle, which has dead bodies everywhere. Herobrine orders the mobs to clean up as he takes me to his room.

I know what's about to happen.
