Adrien picked up on the second ring.
"Hey," came his voice from the other end of the line. "What's up?"
"I don't want to intrude or make you uncomfortable but I would really like to know why you don't tell your friends about yo being a superhero? I mean, you have powers and are really cool. Not that you aren't cool otherwise, it's just that you have literal super powers! So I don't think they would make fun of you if that is what you are worried about." y/n said.
"It's a bit more complicated then that." Adrien responded with a sigh. " You see, if Hawkmoth ever found out who I was then he could use people I love to hurt me. And I need to keep my friends and family safe. Also, since we don't know who Hawkmoth is nobody can know. So you have to promise me that you won't tell anybody." Adrien responded almost begging.
"I won't, I promise. But if I may ask one more question. Do you know who Ladybug is? I mean since you are both heroes that means neither of you could be Hawkmoth so it would be safe to tell the other right?" y/n asked in confusion.
"Well, Ladybug has her own secret identity to worry about. I would be fine knowing each other's identities but if one of us were to be captured by Hawkmoth and we knew each other's identities that wouldn't be good. We also don't want more stress about keeping all the secrets we have to keep in order to protect our identities." Adrien responded.
"Wow, have long have you been a superhero? If that isn't too personal." Y/n asked the superhero.
"A couple years." Adrien said in awe, just now realizing how long he had been protecting Paris.
"A couple years! And you still have time for school and hanging out with your friends? That's awesome! I don't know how you do it!" Y/n said in amazement.
"Neither do I sometimes. Adrien said softly with a sigh.
"I know we just met but since you can't talk to anyone else about your superhero life you can always talk to me." Y/n said in a friendly way. Y/n heard Adrien's smile in his "Thank you"
"Well enough about me. How are you liking Paris so far?" Adrien said switching the conversation.
"It's awesome! I haven't seen the Eiffel Tower yet but I can't wait to! And I'm really glad I met you guys. I probably would've stayed cooped up in my house until school started if Rose, Juleka and Alix hadn't shown up that first day." Y/n said voice quieting as she ended her sentence.
"Since you asked some questions about me I'm gonna ask one about you, if that's alright." Y/n's silence told him to proceed. "Why weren't you able to go to Andres today? You seemed really excited about it at first but then you said you couldn't go." Adrien asked.
Y/n sighed, "My parents. They don't want me going out without them because they don't think I can handle myself against supervillains."
"But what about Chat Noir and Ladybug? We could protect you." Adrien said with a smirk.
Y/n didn't want to hurt the blonde boy's feelings. She replied, "It's just that it's a whole new country and continent that they aren't very familiar with and want to keep me close. Plus, with me getting captured by one of them in my first week my parents think it is going to happen every time I go out."
"Well would your parents let you come over to my house? I could ask my father or Natalie, my dad's assistant, if you want." Adrien said trying to cheer her up.
Y/n smiled. "Thanks Adrien, but I don't want to be a bother."
"It's no bother at all! I'll go ask right now!" Adrien said this so excitedly that Y/n just couldn't bring herself to say no.
"Ok" Y/n replied with a giggle at the blonde boy's excitement.
A few minutes later Adrien replied with unexpected news. "Yes, he said yes!" Adrien said in almost disbelief. Y/n was also surprised. From what she had heard of Mr. Agreste he almost never let anyone in his home and was never out.
"Alright then, I'll go ask my parents." Telling Adrien to hold on, she left her phone in her room and went downstairs to ask permission. She took a deep breath and walked into the living room.
"Mom, s/f/n, I need to ask you guys something. Can I go to my friend's house? He has a huge gate and a lot of security. I promise to stay inside the gates."
Her parents looked at each other. "A boy? What's his name?"
"Adrien Agreste"
A subtle look of astonishment crossed m/n's face. "A-Agreste?"
Both of her family members looked at her in concern. "What's wrong?" s/f/n asked.
M/n tried to regain her composure. "I have just heard that name in magazines and it caught me off guard. I think it's ok to let her go."
Y/n could tell that m/n wasn't telling the whole truth but she wasn't about to jinx her chance at going to Adrien's house by asking about it. S/f/n reluctantly agreed on the condition that he would pick her up and drop her off and that she not do anything "stupid" while she was there.
"I just met him!" Y/n said in embarrassment running back to her room. She gave Adrien the answer and said she would be over shortly. Since she was already dressed she went to get s/f/n and they were off to the Agreste Mansion.
A/n: Hey Muffins! I hope you enjoyed this chapter. It was more of a setup for the next one but I hope it was good nonetheless.
