Meeting the Monsters

You sat in class waiting. You kept sneaking glances of the clock, waiting for school to finally end. You couldn't even focus on what the teacher was saying, you were just so impatient.

Amanda: Hey, Y/N?

You: Yeah?

Amanda: Are you excited for when school's over?

You: Of course I am. It's all I can think about.

Amanda: Well we still got tons of school to deal with before we can meet some monsters.

You: I know, I know.

After sitting through a boring history lesson, you only had just a few more hours to go before you were done.

Mia: Hey Y/N!

You: Oh, hey Mia!

Mia: Same class?

You: Yeah I think so.

Mia: So, I noticed you hanging out with someone else yesterday..

You: (Wait, huh?) Uhh... Yeah?

Mia: Can I know who it was?

You: Well.. her name is Amanda.

Mia: I.. see..

You: (That's definitely weird.) Are you jealous or something?

Mia: W-what?! N-no I'm not! I'm just interested... that's all.

You: Okay weirdo.

Mia: L-lets just f-focus on our next class.

You: I think it's science by the way.

Mia: Oh. (Oh no, Sarah's gonna bully me for sure..)

You: Hey, you alright?

Mia: Yeah, I'm just worried a bit about Sarah, that's all.

You: I wouldn't worry about her.

Mia: Why not?

You: Cause, you got me by my side, and I'm gonna make sure I can keep you safe from anyone who tries to bully ya.

Mia: T-thanks. (Y/N kinda reminds me of my brother in a way.)

The two of you head inside science class and find a seat. The teacher explains that everyone needs a partner as you and Mia team up. They then go on to say that they will be grading depending on how well you do, not how you do it.

You: So, any ideas Mia?

Mia: I do have an idea actually. My family did teach only a teeny bit about robotics. It's not much though.

You: It might be enough to help us pass this class so I'm all ears.

(Timeskip)

After a bit of tinkering, the two of you were able to create a robot who's purpose was to "Pass Butter".

The teacher came to grade you both. You were pretty nervous, but the teacher left you both off with a C-.

Mia: Phew, better than nothing I guess.

You: Least we passed.

Mia: Thanks brother. Oh uh... I mean Y/N.

You: Anytime Mia. (Did she call me brother?)

Mia: I should probably get going, my dad needs some help with a project he's working on. Catcha later.
