A Deal with the Devil

You walked for what seemed like hours, days, years. You didn't know where you were going in the slightest. You tried to turn back constantly, but there was this voice in your head that pushed you to go deeper.

"There has to be something", you thought. "It can't just be a void forever, there has to be an end to this somehow". You kept walking further and further into the void, until suddenly, a voice rang out.

Kianna: Come on bro, you can't just mope about this all day.

Y/N: But if I had just not handed them the gloves then this wouldn't've-

Kianna: Hey, I keep telling you this. Nobody could of predicted this. Now, are you just going to stand there and mope, or are you going to stand up and be brave?!

Y/N: I.... I'm going to be brave! I'm going to show that demon what happens when you mess with us!

Kianna: That's the spirit, let Kianna show you how its done!

You: Kianna?

You turn to where the voices came from, but you only saw the same void.

You: I must be imagining things...

You kept walking for another eternity. As you walked, you heard the clashing of blades, the screams of warriors, th screams of innocent people. You tried and tried to find whatever was making those sounds, but found nothing.

You: This is really starting to annoy me. But I gotta stay focused.

You kept walking deeper into the void, the sounds from before seemed to grow quiet as you walked. Soon, even the sound of you walking had grown silent, with you only able to hear your own breathing.

???: Why have you come back here?

The persons voice made you jump slightly but you quickly regained composure.

You: I'm here because I need help.

???: And you decide to trust the person Gaia has said is evil?

You: She... Hasn't given me all the answers that I need...

???: Oh? And what is it that you seek?

You: I know I may not have everything I need to know about.... Well, everything. But I want to know at least a fraction of the full picture.

???: And you think I can help you because?

You: I don't know.

???: So you come to an almighty deity that is explained by your goddess to be an evil entity, only to ask for a story?

You: Well... Kinda.

???: Very well. Long Ago.

You: Um, could we like, skip the long ago part. What even is your name exactly?

Nai: I've decided to go by the name Nai. 

You: Why do you wear a hood?

Nai: It's not important.

You: Why-

Nai: Do you want the story or not?

You decide to sit down and nod, not wanting to bother them much longer.

Nai: Now, where was I? Oh yes. In a timeline, much like yours, I lived a happy life. I was happy, I had a great family, great friends. But then, it all changed. I was forced to watch my parents die in front of me. The friends I considered a part of my family, brutally murdered. Fire had lined the streets of my home.
