"Max,I really don't like this," El said looking herself up and down in the mirror.

Since it was the middle of July everyone had decided to go to the beach.Max gave El a spare bikini to wear since she didn't have one of her own.

"Why can't I just wear shorts and then wash them when we come home?"

"What if you want to swim and oh,Mike will flip out if he sees you in this.Flip out in a good way."Max stood next to the girl,reassuring her.

"Ok number one Max,I dont know how to swim and number two,Mike already thinks I'm cute,"El began to put on a pair of shorts.

"Ok do whatever you want.Now let's put some sun cream on."

El rubbed the sun cream onto her arms and legs and face,Max helped her with her back since she couldn't reach it.

They walked downstairs where all of the boys sat on the couch in swimming trunks.El sat down next to Mike and he wrapped his arm around her shoulder.She smiled,thankful that he didn't comment on how she looked.

All of them packed themselves into the car along with some towels and food.
The drive to the beach was quite long.1 hour and a half in total.
It wasn't much of a problem though since Lucas put some music on and they all sang along,except for El.

Seeming as it had only been around a year that she'd been allowed to go out and be a normal teen,she had never really heard any of the songs that he was playing,and sat in her seat feeling very left out as they carried on with their journey.Maybe she'd heard some fragments from them but not enough to sing them confidently without embarrassing herself.

Mike,who was sitting besides her of course,noticed her sunken,sad face and had no idea what happened.

In order to cheer her up,he took her by the hands and began to swing them in beat to the song 'Dancing Queen',singing along to the chorus.

"You are the dancing queen, young and sweet only seventeen"he sang,a crooked grin appearing on his face.

She blinked at him with confusion before smiling so that Mike thought that she was happy.

He returned the smile and continued singing for the rest of the journey.

It wasn't that bad.El listened to him singing,which was quite nice for a while,but it didn't take away the want of actually singing with the rest of her friends.

After a very long time,they arrived at the beach which was unluckily, packed with lots of people.

They found a pretty empty spot,half in the shade,half in the burning sun,after searching for almost 10 minutes,looking like travellers with all their stuff.

"We should do a sandcastle contest,"announced Max when they finally put all their stuff down.

"What's that?"asked El.

"Oh so basically it's when everyone makes a sandcastle and someone else judges which one is the best,"she explained making a small castle for demonstration.

El nodded,signalling that she knew what to do.

"Ok,we have 10 minutes, ready..set...go!"Max looked down at her watch so she could see the time.

They all began digging up sand and piling it high.Each of their castle looked different.
Mikes had a leaf on top,Lucas made three long towers with a circle around all of them,Max put shells as windows on hers,Dustin made a little bridge and Wills was the tallest of all of theirs.
