Chapter 20 Overcoming Yourself

Nesby continued her advice with her story. "You see, I used to face the same problem you had before as it was devastating to me. I ever feel like giving up on my nunchucks once,"

"Then what happened?"

"I ended up not giving up on it. Instead, I continued to practice from day to night. I know it is time-consuming when it comes to polishing your skills, but it's going to be worth it,"

Nari suddenly cried the moment Nesby finished her advice. Nesby asked why with the sudden tears.

"That advice you gave me, it reminds me of my mother..."

Nesby just stood there, feeling a little pity for Nari. Nari continued her sentence: "It makes me recall the times when my mother is still alive. Her advice and all of the cherished memories together will be remembered in my heart,"

"Just a quick question, what happened to your mother?"

"She just...left me when I was a kid,"

"Ooo, I am sorry,"

Nesby gently patted Nari's shoulder, expressing her condolences to her. "But you know, I believe you can activate Moon Waves real soon with real practice,"

"Thanks, Nesby,"

Nesby then left the room with Nari still sitting on the bed. She is thinking about something. It might be about Nesby's advice earlier then. After 5 minutes of thinking, she hit the mattress once and left the bed. She is ready to continue.

In the meantime, Nora and Priscilla have already finished their practice with everything arranged in the rack. She walked towards the living room and started her practice again.

During dinner, Nari has already practised for half an hour. No break, no water. She took nothing in the middle of practice. Nora, who is at the dining table, asked if Nari wants to have dinner.

"Nope, Nora. I am close to getting Moon Waves out from here,"

"Well ok then, don't forget dinner-"

Suddenly before Nora can finish her sentence, a canorous explosion interfered with the whole house's peaceful atmosphere. Most of them had their eyes wide open while turning their heads to Nari, who is practising all the time.

Priscilla got shocked and asked: "What happened just now?"

"I don't know Pri," Nari answered while looking at her own hands. She kept flipping her hands to make sure that neither of them is hurt. "Wait, it might be?"

"Your Moon Waves?"Fiona continued.

"I am not sure, but let me try to reactivate it again," Nari raised her hands at the level of her chest, moving her hands just like how she is trying to roll an imaginary ball with both of her hands.

Soon, a cyan coloured ball appeared from her hands as it gradually gets bigger and bigger. There is visible moon-shaped confetti inside the ball with glitter inside as well. However, here is the problem, Nari cannot straighten her arms.

"Wait, why can't you do so?" Priscilla asked.

"Hey, hey, look at me," Nora snapped her fingers so that Priscilla can look at her. "If she straightens her arms, this means she is shooting her powers out. In the end, she will create a lot of damage to this house, and we don't even have a single cent to pay them,"

"Yes, yes, yes. You can stop the explanation already, big Sis. I have already got what you mean right there," Priscilla used her hands to stop Nora from continuing the explanation.

"I succeeded?" Nari was stunned for a while. "I succeeded!"

She cheered in excitement as she had finally seen her ultimate skills. Nesby was the first to leave the table and ran towards Nari. She hugged her and patted her head because Nesby is feeling proud of Nari.

Nesby softly whispered at Nari's ear: "I'm proud of you, Nari,"
