Big Brother's Girlfriend

It is a busy day at the hospital. Doctors and Nurses are running around going to their patient's room. Treating them and taking care of them. The life of a medical practioner was hard especially to Dr. Y/L/N, she is a well known cardiothoracicsurgeon. A lot of patients were lining up to be treated by her because she makes an impossible surgery to become possible. Everyone in the hospital likes her aside from being beautiful she is also a nice and a humble person. To her, the hospital is her kingdom and cannot be taken from her. But lately, she has been stressing out because her kingdom has been packed with patients and to add up with that her family gathering is coming very soon. You see Dr. Y/L/N is not in good terms with her father because she chooses a different career and she always prioritize work over family. The people who only understands her is her mother and big brother. His big brother is the one who took over their company after their father's retirement.

Y/N's POV

"Doctor Y/L/N, someone's looking for you" my resident told me and point to the direction where a person was standing. I went there and to my surprise I saw my big brother wearing a black business suit.

"Lawrence!" I said. He turned around and looked at me smiling. We hugged and pull apart. "What are you doing here, big bro?" I ask still smiling

"To make sure that you are coming tonight" he said nonchalantly. Then I just laughed at him while scratching the back of my neck. " You're planning not to come, are you?" He ask furrowing his brows.

"Actually, I have a scheduled operation later this afternoon and I don't think I can make it for dinner" I said half lying at him. I really do have a surgery but it is just a heart bypass it can be only be done for 3 hours, I just don't like to join my family and talk to them during dinner.

"Y/N you must be kidding me! I told you to come and cancel your schedules today and you said yes and now your backing out?" He said frustratingly and I can't help but feel guilty because my brother is always there for me.

"I'm sorry it's just that it is an important operation to this patient and he only trusted me to do this surgery" I explained and he sighed.

"Well, can you come after this surgery? It's ok if you can't come to dinner but come to my place after I want you to meet someone" he said frustratingly

"I'm so Sorry big bro. Alright I'll try my best to finish the surgery then come to dinner and meet your special someone" I said while tapping his shoulder.

"Make sure to go Y/N. I miss talking to my little sister so please come and Mom kept on asking me if you are coming she is planning to cook your favourite food" he says while adjusting his suit

"I will try my best to come and don't worry I will call Mama and tell her that I will go but not sure if I will be on time or better yet just take the food that Mama cooked so that if I won't make it in dinner time, I can eat the food in your apartment" I said smirking and he push me lightly

"You know I don't even know if your joking or not! You're a terrible sister and daughter" he smiled hugging me and I giggle a little.

After talking for a while Lawrence left and I went back to do my morning rounds together with my residents and interns. I even have time to call my Mom letting her know that I will be joining our family dinner and she was ecstatic in hearing that. I can't help but to smile because I rarely talk to my Mom because of my busy and demanding job but every time I got a chance to talk to her, I always feel so calm and at home. My Mom and Dad are my home even though my father doesn't approve my career and we're not in good terms right now, I still know that he is there for me. Like the time that he accepted me for who and what I am. Other than my family the other person that I felt so calm is the person that I let go back then, the one that got away.
