Y/N'S POV

It's been two weeks after my encounter with Jennie and her son Jacob and I've been doing good. I've been dating a lot just as recommended by my good old friend Lauren and I must say that it helps me a lot. Not only by having great sex every after date but also by talking to other people, talking random things that is not related to my job.

Right now, I'm on my way to my parents house with Lauren. She's with me today because she is craving my Mom's cooking and wants to chit chat with my Mom. You know she and my Mom are really close like she is the lost daughter of my parents they care about her and love her like their own. I don't know why but Lauren has that kind of charm that elder people likes.

"Y/N, are we there yet?" Lauren asked for the nth time.

"We get there, when we get there!" I said sighing and she sighed also.

"I'm starving" she said sadly and I just laughed at her.

"You're always hungry!" I said while laughing and she hits me in the arm making me laugh hard.

"I'm serious I'm hungry the only thing that I ate today is a biscuit that the nurse shared to me this morning and it is only a piece of it" she said whining

"Well, why didn't you eat before we head to my parents house? Do you want us to do a stop over?" I said knowingly but she just shakes her head and sighed even more then I opened my glove compartment and handed her my reese chocolate that I've been saving for emergency snack. Her eyes then glowed when she saw it and gave me a long kiss on the cheek making me do my gross expression and she just laughs at me and started eating my reese.

"Next time, Eat before we travel. You know that my parents house is an hour away from here" I said and she just smiled at me.

"I can't Y/N, I wanna eat everything that Momma Y/L/N cooks and the only way to do that is to eat a little here and eat a lot there" she said happily.

I just shake my head at her and just drive our way to my parents house.

After we arrive and park my car I saw Lawrence's car already parked. Which means that he is already here and so as Jennie. I inhaled deeply and exhaled before going out of the car opening Lauren's door. She then noticed my uneasiness on our way to the front door and intertwined our hands squeezing it before knocking the door.

You see, Lauren knew about my past I told her everything during our residency and I told her that my ex Jennie was the Jennie that she saw in the ER last time. The good thing is that she didn't judge me even when I told her the real reason behind Jennie's leaving back then and she just supports me all the way.

"Ola Mi familia!" Lauren shouted. Making a couple of heads turn to our direction. My Mom then went towards us and give us a hug especially to Lauren who she misses the most.

"Oooh... My daughter-in-law is here" My Mom said making Lauren and I chuckled. Then my Dad came also hugs Lauren and me.

Then at the corner of my eye I saw Jennie eyeing us while we make our way to the living room and while we chat a little with my parents.

"Dr. Cool and Dr. Green eyes are here! Yey!" someone shouted excitedly then I turn my attention to the voice and I saw Jacob on the couch looking happy. I then remove myself from the conversation and went to Jacob's

"Hey Jacob, how are you?" I said

"I'm fine" he said then hugged me making me hug him also "I missed you" he said making me giggle.

"Jacob, we only knew each other back in the hospital and you missed me a lot?" I said and he nods enthusiastically.

"Because you promise that we will eat ice cream and I've been looking forward to that" he said and pulled away from the hug, then I ruffled his hair making him groan and I laughed.
