Childhood Crush

JENNIE'S POV:

"Mom? Do you really need to hire a babysitter? I mean I'm already eighteen! I can take care of myself and Ella. So, no need to worry about us Mom! You and Tom can go on a trip without any worries" I said frustratingly

"Sweetie, I'm sorry but I really can't let you and Ella be alone. You are always busy in school and Ella needs someone to take care of her and get her to school and I don't think that you are capable to do that" Mom reasoned making me roll my eyes. "Please understand that this is for the good of you and Ella plus you don't have to worry about this babysitter of yours. She is a nice person and you know her very well, so I think there will be no problem" she added while fixing her luggage

"I know her well?" I asked making her nod "Who?"

"It's my niece, Y/n/n!" Tom said and came in the room kissing my Mom's cheeks on the process and getting her luggage.

"Y/n/n?" I asked furrowing my eyebrows looking at the both of them. They both nodded and head downstairs with me following behind.

"Yeah! You're Mom told me that you guys needs a babysitter so I called my niece Y/n/n and she agreed immediately. Y/N told me that you and her were schoolmates before she went to college" he explained making me more curious then he exhaled frustratingly because he knows that I still don't recall the name "Y/N Y/L/N is her whole name, pretty tall girl with dimples, ring any bell?"

A smile crept on my face as I remember who Y/N Y/L/N is, she is my childhood friend/crush. The coolest person that I've ever met. She is friendly and charming especially when she smiles widely showing her dimples making everyone fall for her.

We met in our camping week, I was on 3rd grade back then and she is on 6th grade, since she is the oldest she became our team captain and during our stay in the camp site she never stays away in our side and takes care of us. I also remembered when I cried in the middle of the game because someone pushed me on the ground and my knee was scraped and it was bleeding. When she saw me crying she then went directly to me and told me not to cry while she hugs and rubs my back to calm me down. After I calmed down she lift me up bridal style and sends me to the nurse's clinic. After that incident she became overprotective to me and we became friends until she graduated high school. After graduating High School she went back to the Philippines to study and never seen her after.

"Didn't know you're her Uncle? How come you've never told me this before?" I asked Tom

"Because you never asked?" He said sassily making me huff and roll my eyes. My Mom then laughs at us.

"How come you're ugly while your niece is beautiful?" I retorted back making my Mom laugh more

"How come you're an ass while your Mom and sister aren't?" He answered back making the both of us laugh.

You see, Tom is my Mom's boyfriend for 2 years now. He is a nice guy and takes a good care of us. He treats us like his own and he loves my Mom wholeheartedly. If you wonder on where is my Dad well, my Mom and Dad separated when my younger sister Ella is still a baby. My Dad left us for another woman and now he has another family and been living his life in New Zealand. My Mom filed a divorce a year after and now my Mom is happy in Tom's care. Which made me glad because Tom is a father figure to me and Ella.

While me and Tom are bantering. A knock was heard on the door followed by the continuous ringing of the door bell making us all look at the door. Both Tom and Mom told me to open the door making my scoff but still followed them making them chuckle.

"I'm coming! Stop ringing the doorbell" I shouted feeling irritated.

As I was on my way to open the door, my 6 year-old sister, Ella came down running from the stairs and preceded to open the door.
