Layla's dream proposal {Part two}.

Life is filled with tests and lessons. We can either learn from them or just let them be the way they are. The obstacles we face in life are just a step closer to our goal and destination.

Getting the blessings of her grandparents was done but that wasn't the hard part. The hard part was the blessings of her father and mother. Even though Liam loved the idea of them together, he still had some doubts just like any father would.

As for Nayla, all she wants is to see Layla happy with whoever she chooses to be with.

"Thanks, bro. I don't know what I would have done without your support and friendship", Jason tells Naeem.

"You are welcome. But remember what granddad said".

"Yes, I do. I can't and will never hurt her. She is everything to me".

"I know that. That's why I will always support you two", Naeem tells him.

It was time for them to go home and see her parents so her dream proposal would work and come true.

Layla had already started working at a nearby school as an English teacher. She loved her job which wasn't easy or hard.

"Everything set, now all I need is her to be there with both your parents. I just want everything to be perfect for her".

"Bro, you know Layla doesn't do perfection. She loves food and books. Just give her a great book and a bunch of snacks she is good to go", Naeem tells Jason knowing that's what his sister loves.

They started laughing knowing that Layla wasn't the type of girl who would want extravagant things.

"I hope she isn't home", Naeem says parking the car.

"She isn't", Jason replies showing him a message from Layla.

They walked into the house, and Naeem found his parents already waiting for them in the living room. Naeem had already told them that Jason wanted to talk to them without Layla being there.

"Asalam aleikum".

Both Jason and Naeem greeted them. This surprised them as it was the first time that Jason greeted them like that.

"Jason has already convert yesterday after meeting grandpa and grandma", Naeem explained to his parents.

"Waleikum salaam", both Nayla and Liam answered.

"I know that Naeem has told you about my intentions of marrying your daughter. But first I need your blessing to do that", Jason explained to them. He was nervous because they might reject him.

"Okay, you have my blessing but I don't know about my wife", Liam tells him looking at Nayla.

Nayla burrowed her eyebrows at her husband.

"Don't mind this person here. You have both our blessings and now as for the engagement, I don't think you should make it a big event. Because Layla would have your head if you make it a big one", Nayla explained to him.

She also told him that they could have it there at the house because there weren't going to be a lot of people. Only family.

The date was set and so was everything else.

Three years were enough for them to be apart from each other. Jason needed her in his life.

The day arrived. Nayla tried everything to keep her daughter out of the house until the time arrived. Knowing that her daughter disliked going out and would normally stay home.

"Mamma, I can't feel my feet. Can we please get some food?", Layla complained to her mother who was trying to control her laughter.

"Okay, let's go to the food court and get some food...."

Nayla couldn't even finish what she wanted to say when she saw her daughter walking toward the food court.

"I hope Jason is ready for you", she says to herself walking towards the table where Layla was sitting.

"Ah, yes. My order is one large burger, French fries, and one large coke", then she turned to her mother and asked what she wanted.

When they finished ordering their food. Layla looked at her mother and smiled.

"What?".

"Nothing".

When they were done eating, Layla begged her mother to go home. She dislikes shopping of any kind.

Good luck to you Jason. You are going to need it.

"Okay fine but we have to make one last stop then we go home".

Layla breathes a sigh of relief.

Nayla quickly sent a message to her husband asking if everything was done.

In about a few seconds, Liam replied to her saying that they were done.

"What are we doing here, mamma?", Layla asks her as Nayla led her to a salon.

"I just want to finish our mother-daughter day by getting all dolled up", Nayla explained to her.

"Okay, then we are going home", Layla pouted looking like a kid who lost her candy.

Nayla told the hairdresser what she wanted for herself and Layla. She gave Layla a dress to wear that matches the hijab.

"Now you look ready. Let's go".

Layla followed her mother feeling confused because o the way their mother-daughter day is going. It was almost 5 pm and she wanted to read the latest book on Wattpad by her favorite writer.

When they reached home, they saw that the lights were on in the backyard.

"Is there a celebration that I don't know about? Is it your wedding anniversary? Crap am sorry mamma that I forgot", Layla began blubbering.

"No Layla calm down. And let's go and see what is going on".

As they walked toward the backyard, they saw her grandparents and her father standing there with big smiles on their faces.

"Assalam aleikum"

Ayla walked toward her granddaughter and hugged her.

"Layla, my sweet girl. You deserve the world and he will give it to you", Ayla tells her leading her to where Jason was.

He was standing looking handsome in his suit. Layla walked towards him nervous.

"Hey, beautiful".

"Hey".

"I had an entire speech prepared but when I saw you I lost it. I love you Layla. You are my light. Will you marry me?", he asks her kneeling on one knee with her grandmother's engagement ring.

Layla turned to see her family, and they all started to nod their heads.

"Yes, I will marry you".

He put the ring on her finger and hugged her tightly hoping that this wasn't a dream.

"My Hijabi Queen, you are mine as I am yours. Forever my love", Jason tells Layla looking at their families and friends who were smiling at them.

"Together forever my love".

"Together forever my love"
