Chapter 16:DEEPER INTO THE DESPAIR

Yoongi's POV:

"Why do you hate Y/N?"
Yoongi blinked twice, his brain trying to interpret the question his friend had asked him just now. Of course, he didn't see this coming.
"What makes you think that?", he asked blankly.
"Everything, Yoongi!Everything does! The way you act towards her, it's unusual for you. You're not like this. I mean, I know that you don't like to meet new people, but you're not rude! Why do you behave rudely towards her???!!", frustration was clear in Hoseok's voice. Yoongi didn't say anything, just stared at him blankly.
" Yoongi", Hoseok sighed, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean to shout at you. But it doesn't make sense. You..you're not like this...I know that very well. Something might have happened between you and her which she isn't telling me and I won't ask you to tell me either. It's just...I want you both to get along. You're not only my best friend, Yoongi. You're my brother, you all are. And she is my little sister. You all are my family and I just want my both families to be together as one.The others seem to like her so much..not to mention Kook.You can see that yourself.He's been so happy after she walked in and it was very much needed for him.The only thing that doesn't feel right is the thing between you and her.I don't know what happened but please don't hate her,Yoongi".
Yoongi stared at his brother for a good ten seconds before letting out an audible sigh,"I..I don't hate her,Hobi.I just...It's hard for me..to interact with a girl.Not after what happened ",he said slowly, staring at the big glass window beside their table.
He himself didn't know why he didn't tell the truth to Hoseok. The reason why he despised you this much, it seemed wrong to him to tell this to his friend, especially after he heard how much you mean to him.
"Yoongi-ah...I know that what happened to you was very wrong.I know how much she meant to you. After all,she was your first love",he paused, noticing the pain in Yoongi's eyes despite the blank face he tries to put up every time when he's hurt.
Hoseok sighed before continuing,"What I'm trying to say is, everyone is not the same.She hurt you in the worst possible way but that doesn't mean all the others would do the same. It's hard for you to trust people other than us after that,i understand it.But please don't hate Y/N.She is not like her, trust me.She's different.At least...try to be nice to her for Jungkook's sake.I know you noticed how much hurt he was when you behaved like that towards her at the party.He loves her so much and so does she.Finally, he got someone to take care of him properly, you know that too".

Hearing the last part, Yoongi's mind drifted towards the events from the movie night which was a day before.The way you looked at Jungkook with adoration,the way you kissed his forehead so delicately.Even though he thinks you are a whore who can give away her body for money,one thing was clear to him: it was impossible for someone to put up an act to adore a person so dearly.Your love and affection towards his little brother were pure,he knew that.Your eyes said it all,or more precisely, he could read it all.Also when he went to give a blanket to you secretly after finding out that the guest rooms didn't have them and ended up in Jungkook's room, finding you and Hoseok cuddling like little puppies inside the small blanket for one person that was Jungkook's. An airy chuckle left his mouth when he saw you both of you nudging into each other's body to find warmth in that little blanket.The way Hoseok's arms were wrapped around your small body in a brotherly way made him realize how much he adores you.He assumed that you were scared to stay alone in the guest room so you decided to sleep with Hoseok even in this small blanket and he accepted you warmly. Smilingly,Yoongi walked towards the bed and tucked you both into the bigger blanket he brought with him.As soon as you felt the warmth, your bodies relaxed and both of you smiled in sleep.The amount of cuteness was overwhelming for Yoongi as he stared at you both in awe.He didn't know what he was feeling towards you anymore.Was it hatred? Anger?Vengeance? Then why did his heart leaped up with joy when he saw you smiling?He didn't know.These were the answers he'd never know.
He was brought back to reality by Hoseok's voice.
"I..don't know what you're thinking and....she might possibly kill me after this but i have to tell you this one thing.Yoongi-ah...Y/N..she..she had suffered a lot.Actually , she's still suffering. She's going through things that you probably can't even imagine.Just because she always puts up that smile on her face doesn't mean she can hide it all the time.And...I can see that very well.But i can't do anything. Sometimes, I feel like a failure, a worthless friend who can't even protect her from all those bullshits.She doesn't let me walk into her darkness,she never does. So the least i can do for her is to make it a little bit easier. I'm not gonna break it to you since she made me promise her that but..she's got issues,Yoongi. Issues that are too deep to get up from.She doesn't deserve all this pain".
Yoongi didn't know what to reply anymore. Multiple emotions were rushing through his mind.Are these the difficulties Mr.Kang was talking about that day when both of you were late?Was it the reason why you were hesitant when he spilled it in front of Yoongi?But if it is,what might make you end up in that hotel room for money in exchange for your virginity? What could possibly be the reason you needed that much money? By the looks of it, he could say that Hoseok didn't know a thing about it.Why did you hide it from him?If you really needed that money for whatever reason you had,why didn't you ask your own childhood best friend who's the only son of one of the richest men in the whole damn country? It didn't make sense to him.He was lost, confused.He didn't know what to think anymore. Had he been misjudging you all along? Or it was your best friend who was in dense about the truth you hid from him?He didn't know a thing.
"Yoongi?"
"Huh?Yeah..i was a bit zoned out.I understand your concerns about her,Hobi. I'm sorry if I've been acting like a jerk. I'll be nice to her next time", Yoongi blurted out with a blank face.
"I know you will", Hoseok smiled at him.
He just nodded and they went back to their normal chatting. Though Yoongi was listening to his friend silently about how he experienced different situations during his stay abroad, his mind was stuck at you. Millions of thoughts pilled up in his small brain and he needed answers.
