3rd person's POV:

"Hobi...I don't think it was a good idea for me to accompany you here".

You whispered into your best friend's ear as soon as you walked into the huge-ass building. You could see your reflection in the glass walls and the nervousness along with a very uncomfortable awkward feeling rose your body.

"I'm sorry to drag you here with me but it can't be helped. It's hella uncomfortable for me to deal with this alone", Hoseok sent you an apologetic look as the suited man who was supposed to take you both to your destination bowed at you and took you to the big elevator.
The elevator reached the 23rd floor and the man gestured to you to get off which you obeyed silently. He took you to a big hall which seemed like a conference room and told you to wait there.

You looked around the conference room, fascinated by the interior while Hoseok simply sat on a chair, his eyes closed. Your head snapped in the direction from where hurried footsteps could be heard, pencil heels you assumed. Hoseok also got up from the chair, staring at the huge doorway. Soon a beautiful female in her early 40s appeared, with a smile on her face which was too familiar to you. You bowed to the elder lady. From the corner of your eyes, you could see Hoseok's stiffened body. Nudging him with your elbow, you gestured him to bow and he followed seconds later, only to be pulled up by his shoulders.

The lady pulled him into her embrace and sniffed while mumbling, "Oh my God..my baby...my baby..thanks..thank you so much".

It took Hoseok a few seconds to process everything as he hugged her back awkwardly. You just stood beside the duo with awe. Nothing can be more beautiful than a mother-child reunion. Well, in most cases.

Moments later, she lifted her head from Hoseok's shoulder and looked at you without breaking the hug. Smiling, she gestured you to come closer and you obeyed gladly, joining the group hug.

"Thanks Y/N", Choi Haeja, Hoseok's mother whispered between her sobs and you rubbed her back to calm her down.

Minutes later, she calmed down and three of you sat in the chairs. You and Hoseok sat side by side across her. The silence was painfully awkward since neither the mother nor son knew what to say. So you decided to save them.

" It's been a long time, aunt", you smiled at the lady in front of you.

"Yeah...I know right. I'm so sorry for not keeping in touch. I know I've been selfish and-"

You cut her off by holding her hands tightly, "I didn't mean that. And it's not your fault either. You were busy. I've read all the articles in the magazines about you and I've also seen the new designs that launched last month! Not to mention, it was a bomb!! So I know how busy you were. You have nothing to be sorry about", you said softly, earning a bright smile that Hoseok inherited from her.

" You didn't pick up my calls", she whispered while looking down and you knew who she directed it to. Turning your left, you saw your best friend staring outside from the big glass window, zoning out. You lightly tapped on his shoulder and he immediately shot his head towards you.

"She asked you why didn't you pick up the calls", you whispered.

" Eh? Oh...yeah..I...I was busy...kinda", he stuttered, trying to look everywhere but his mother's face.

"Oh..", she sounded disappointed but immediately smiled at his son, "Jiwoo told me you went to Australia last month. When did you come back?"

"Last week", he replied shortly meanwhile you held your breathe as the atmosphere was tense.

"So..how was it?", she asked hesitating, trying her best to continue the conversation.

"Oh yeah..pretty good. I've enjoyed it so much! Why not? This is what I've always dreamt of!", he said sarcastically.
