Hajime stood quietly in the white room. "Where is Nagito?" He asked. "And stop answering me in riddles." He waited impatiently as Izuru stood opposite him, deep in thought.
Izuru took a deep breath, then sat down on the black leather couch that had suddenly appeared. "I'm going to teach you a little trick I learned." He said patting the couch seat next to him. Hajime hesitated a moment before deciding to sit. "We have access to the same memories." He said softly, reaching out to touch his fingertips to the sides of Hajime's head. "I am pretty good at shielding you from the more disturbing ones of course." He took one hand away. "But I am willing to share more, if that is what you want."
"I want to know what happened to Nagito." Hajime said in a huff. "It's been three days. Something is wrong." He looked at Izuru with tears in his eyes. "What did you do?"
"He'll live, I made sure of it." Izuru said, turning away. "Here, I will show you."  He leaned in again and pressed his fingers to Hajime's temples. Slowly, Hajime could feel thin fingers going deeper into his head.

                    ————————————————

I am sitting in the cottage, on the chair right next to the bed. Nagito is asleep. I can hear Akane and Fuyuhiko talking about something....it's hard to make out. My head is foggy.  Izuru pushes his way to the front before I have the chance to think. I see Nagito sit up in bed and come to me. I can smell the mix of  alcohol and vomit. He takes off my tie and shirt. He is so loving, he even rests my head on his chest as he does this. I am amazed at how gentle he is. He laid my body back carefully on the chair. I was Watching this from the outside. Standing behind Nagito, I could see him just as I left him that morning. Just a pair of plaid boxers.
Nagito sat on the bed smiling. He reached out and ran a hand down my bare chest. He then leaned in and kissed the nape of my neck. I could see him getting harder as he worked his way down my chest.
I can hear Izuru behind me. "Would he do this when you are conscious?" He laughed. "No, he prefers when you can't fight back. "
I can't believe this. How could this be happening? We've gotten so close before, and he always stops.  Now I see him fully aroused...taking advantage of me when I am passed out?
"This is where I came in." Izuru purred into my ear.
As if on cue, I lift my head. It's Izuru, not me, and I can tell by the change in Nagito that he knows it too. I expected him to back away, but instead, he smiles and kisses him passionately.  "I thought you'd never come." Nagito says with a smile. "You are the one I love, not him."  He looks so serious. Nagito is now climbing on to my lap, kissing me deeply. It's something that I have longed for months. But he always backed out.
I turn away.  I can't watch this... then I hear the sound of Nagito screaming. I turn back with tears in my eyes. I see Izuru dragging him by one arm to the bathroom. "Enough!" I scream "I don't want to see any more."  I close my eyes tight. Trying to rid my mind of what I just witnessed.
I feel Izuru's comforting arms around me and I give in to the tears that have been brimming from the very start.
"The only reason he keeps you around is for me." Izuru said, stroking my hair. "I have been trying to protect you."  He whispered in my ear.

"Now now, Little Mouse." Izuru whispered  "Don't cry. I will take care of it." He said still stroking Hajime's hair.  "Just say the word, and I will rid the world of one Nagito Komaeda."
"No." Hajime said, breaking away from the embrace. "I need to talk to him." He shook his head and looked into the darkness that now covered the once white room. "I need to hear it from him."
Izuru frowned, but nodded in agreement. "I see.  Perhaps that is best." He said smiling.

Nagito woke up slowly. Feeling the pain in his chest as he tried to breathe. He heard the familiar sounds of a heart monitor and oxygen machine. He sat up, looking around the room. Where is Hajime? He screamed in his head. His throat hurt, and when he opened his mouth only a faint sound emerged. "Hajime?" He whispered. He was alone. He had no way of knowing how much time had passed since his fight with Izuru. Even though it hurt to move, he swung his legs over the side of the bed, and began pulling wires out. His feet were almost touching the floor when Mikan burst through the door.
"Nagito!" She screamed from across the room. "You can't get up yet. Y...y...you lost a lot of blood." She was at his side at once, pushing with all her strength to get him to stay in bed.
"Where is Hajime?" He asked as he gave up trying to fight her. "I need to see Hajime." He said in the strongest voice he could muster. Which, if he were honest, was quieter than his normal speaking voice.
"I ccc...can go get hi..him." She said finally, pushing him back into the bed. "You n..n..need to rest." She said as she hurried out of the room again.
Nagito laid his head back on the pillow. He decided to take a look at his situation. His arms, chest and legs were bandaged. Probably from the burns. His face, which he could not see, felt swollen and bruised.
He heard voices in the hallway, talking in hushed whispers. He strained to hear them but only heard words disconnected from context.
"Crazy...." A male voice, not Hajime though.
        "Injuries....." Mikan said worriedly.
"Safe?" A deeper male voice, probably Nekumaru.
A moment later, Mikan returned with Fuyuhiko and Nekumaru.  "Where is Hajime?" Nagito asked again, not taking his eyes off of Mikan.
"How much of what happened do you remember?"  Fuyuhiko asked.
"Most of  it." Nagito replied. "Now, answer me." He said looking away from all three of them.  "Where is Hajime?" There was nothing but silence. He turned his head. His eyes filled with tears.  "What did you do to him?"
"He...he's somewhere safe." Mikan said quietly. "Wh...where...he can't hurt anyone, or hi..himself."
Nagito threw the blanket and sheet off of the bed in a fit of rage, taking Mikan by the shoulders and shaking her. "You stupid little bitch!"
Mikan tried moving away from him. Fuyuhiko and Nekumaru stood back, not sure what to do at this point.
"You can't leave him alone." Nagito said releasing Mikan. "Even when he's alone, he's never alone." He looked around the room, eyes wild and crazy. He then let out a maniacal laugh that they had not heard since the killing game. "He is always with him, whispering in his head. If he is alone than he is in even more danger."  He tried standing up for the first time in three days, but his legs gave out on him and he crashed to the floor. Mikan hesitated a moment before rushing to his side to help him up. "Don't fucking touch me!" He said as forcefully as he could. "You have been nothing but trouble from the very beginning. This wouldn't be the first time you tried to kill him." Mikan backed away, eyes wide with fear.  Nekumaru took a step forward, to close the distance between them, should Nagito get violent.
"It wasn't her idea." He said, kneeling down to lift him back up.  "We all decided it was the best course of action."  He looked over to Fuyuhiko, as if to ask for backup. "He almost killed you."
"It wasn't Hajime." Nagito said, looking back to Fuyuhiko. "The person who did this to me was not Hajime.  You have to believe me."
"I saw him. He was about to..." Fuyuhiko said blushing as he looked away. "Well I don't want to think about what he was going to do." He sat on the edge of Nagito's bed, head hung down. "It's my fault." Fuyuhiko said quietly. "I'm the one that got him drunk."
"That really doesn't matter now." Nagito said patting him on the shoulder. "We have been keeping this between us, because we didn't want to worry anyone prematurely." Nagito looked at Nekumaru when spoke. "It was foolish of us to believe that we could control him."  His mouth was dry, and his throat hurt.
"Him? Who are you talking about?"  Nekumaru said scratching his head.
"Izuru Kamukura." Nagito said with a deep sigh. Fuyuhiko looked up at him surprised.
"But, he was supposed to disappear, or get integrated into Hajime, something like that, right?"  Fuyuhiko asked.
"That's what we figured would happen." Nagito said looking off into space. "But a month after we got out, He surfaced." He started mindlessly tugging on the bandages on his right arm. "He is fiercely protective of Hajime.  Almost possessive." He looked up again if only for a second. "And he really hates me."
Nekumaru laughed. "Well, that's obvious!"  He cleared his throat as he noticed the others staring at him. "That being said. All the more reason to keep him away from you."
Nagito looked up at him and frowned. "No." He said with a sigh. "I can tell the difference between the two of them." He thought a moment before continuing. "I can bring Hajime back." He said with confidence. "I've done it before." He was feeling the pain again in his legs. "In fact, right before I collapsed at his cottage, I saw him emerge."  He looked right into Fuyuhiko's eyes. "If he is alone now. He has no idea why he's there." He fought back the tears. "Izuru could be telling him anything."  He looked around the room at all of them. "I need to talk to him. I have to tell him the truth about what happened."
"T...there's a meeting tonight." Mikan said timidly.  "At Jabberwok Park.  T..to de...decide what to do about h...him."
"I need to speak to the others."Nagito said  with an excitement that surprised even him. "If I promise to behave, can I go?" He said holding Mikan's hand. Smiling as sweetly as he could.
       "Y...you are still very w...weak." She said.  "If w...we take a wheelchair...I...I don't s..see why not."
Nagito punched the air. "Alright then."  He said looking around the room again. "Any chance of getting a little something to eat?"  He said with a sly smile.  "Feels like I haven't eaten in days." Mikan said a quick apology, and hurried out the door.
"You better be planning on telling all of this to the others as well...I think they have a right to know." Nekumaru said loudly.
"Well, of course I will tell them." Nagito laughed. "It's pointless now anyway, you would just tell them if I didn't."  Nekumaru grunted as he quickly left the room.  "Well, that was as pleasant as ever" Nagito said, smiling at Fuyuhiko. "Now then, what the hell were you thinking?" He joked. "Getting my boyfriend drunk, not cool."
"It's not like I held him down and made him drink." He said after a little laugh. "I just wanted him to lighten up a bit."
Nagito laughed so hard that it hurt a little. "Have you met him?" He said jabbing Fuyuhiko in the ribs a little.  "He's the textbook definition of uptight."
Fuyuhiko moved from the bed to the chair next to it. "I'm sorry man." He said rubbing the back of his neck. Nagito looked at him, puzzled. "I didn't know what was going on in there. " His face turned bright red. "At first I thought...you two were...well..um...I didn't think you were in danger."  He looked away, trying to think of the right words to say.  "If I had known...If I had gone to get help sooner, maybe it wouldn't have been so bad."
Nagito smiled. "It's ok. I'm sure you were there for his protection, not mine." He laughed. "You think I don't know what everyone thinks of me?"  He looked at his hands again.  "I hear the whispers. I see the looks I get when we are out walking. When I am holding his hand." He looked up smiling again. "It's ok. I understand why you wouldn't help if it were me screaming."
"It's not like that." Fuyuhiko said with an angry tone.  "I saw you undressing him."  He was turning red again. "I didn't want to...you know, interrupt something."
Nagito laughed. "Oh, you don't have to worry about that."  He saw the look of confusion on Fuyuhiko's face. "How do I put this..." he said thinking hard. "Since being released from the simulation, we have not...well, you know?"  He saw the shocked look on Fuyuhiko's face and laughed. "I've been meaning to apologize to you for that by the way." He said with a smirk. "It must have been pure hell being my neighbor in there."
"Pretty much, yeah." He said letting out a long held breath. "But not at all since we woke up?" He said in disbelief. "Why not?"
Nagito cocked an eyebrow up and looked at him. "Do you really want to know?" He asked.
"Not really, no." Came the response.
