11. Another victim

A few days pasted without hearing anything from Ghostface and I still had no answers on what he had meant by giving me that mask.

I was now driving to work on a Tuesday morning, I had the early shift. It was a foggy and humid morning.

I drove into the grocery store parking lot and quickly found a place to park because only a few people were there. They were leaving because they worked the night shift re-stocking the shelves.

I got out of my car grabbing my stuff and walking quickly into the air conditioned store, I hated hot weather.

I started my shift right on time at 9am. My shift was 9 - 3 with a break around 12, the hours were kind of weird but it didn't bother me much. I got to my cash register right as the first customer walked in.

Time skip to 12pm (Lunch break)

I placed the closed sign on the register as I grabbed my bag and walked to the break room. The break room was a small room at the back of the store with a few tables and chairs. It worked though because only 2-4 workers were on break at a time. When I walked in there were already two teenagers in there, a girl and a boy. They looked to be around 15-16, Probably just working there summer jobs here to get some money before school started back up again.

I sat down at the table a few feet away from the one they where sitting at. They were looking at something on one of there phones, they looked kind of creeped out. They were also talking loudly and I couldn't help but over hear.

"Look another person was killed last night, the same way as the last ones.." The boy spoke

"Jeez.. What does the article say?" The girl asked eagerly

"A 19 year old girl was stabbed to death in her home last night after receiving several calls from an unknown number. Police are unable the track the number and are still shocked at the lack of evidence the killer left. At this time there are no suspects for this killing or the many before. Seems that the Roseville killer has struck again." The boy read out loud.

"That's terrible.." The girl replied "does the killer have a name?"

"well it says here the author of the article Jed Olson has given the killer a name.. It's Ghostface" The boy said

I stopped eating my lunch and looked up in shock, That could just be a crazy coincidence right? That's the name I came up with the other night..

My alarm on my phone went off signalling my break was over so I got up, packed up my things and went back to my register.  But for the rest of the day I couldn't stop thinking about that. 

By the time I got back home that night I was eager to read more on the Roseville murders. I opened google  on my laptop and browsed for a bit when I came across another article by Jed Olson.  The same author from the article the teenagers were reading earlier.  I clicked the link and was met by "Roseville News", It seemed to be the official site for the town news.  I scrolled down to find information on the killer.

"From what we know the Roseville killer has been working for about 3 months and he seems to use the same tactics every time.  He is known to stalk his victims for days or even weeks before the murders. many victims had reported being followed home or watched by a dark figure before turning up dead days later.   All his victims are killed in the same way as well,  Multiple stab wounds to the back and chest.   The victims seem to be chosen at random, there ages seem to vary from young to old.  Police are shocked at the lack of evidence the killer leaves behind.  No traces of DNA, Finger prints or even foot prints. All we know is that the killer wears a ghost mask as seen on a security camera a few weeks ago."  The short paragraph read.

My mind travelled back to the mask Ghostface had given me a few nights ago.  Then it hit me.. Did he want me to join him?
