The talent show is in a couple of months. Enough time to practice. It's Friday and both of my parents are home. Great. This is a recipe for disasters. I got home from school to find out I'm home alone. The door opens and I turn around to see my dad. I ran up and hugged.

"I haven't seen you in weeks," I tell him hugging him.

"I've missed you so much y/n"

we both let go and we both walked to the kitchen.

"your mother invited the neighbors again," he says opening the fridge grabbing leftover Chinese food.

"I guess we should start ordering Italian food," I say

My dad starts laughing.

We both made a plan that we were going to order Italian food while he went next door to grab wine for the adults.

It was 6 pm and the partridge's were coming at 7:30. We both got in the car and started driving to the Italian food and wine.

I went in and saw Will and Jade. They were laughing looking like they were having a good time. Will look so nice in that shirt. It was my turn to pick up my order.

As I was paying I heard my name.

"y/n!!" jade comes in and giving me a hug

"hi jade"

"Are your parents home is that why you're here?"

"yeah" we both start laughing.

Both of my parents love jade. We are really close but since she's been dating will we haven't talked to each other one on one.

"well I'm going to the bathroom y/n keep will company while I'm gone" she smiles and goes.

She knows what she's doing to me. It was awkward.

"your food will be out in a couple of minutes," the cashier says.

Great.

Will and I are just standing there in silence.

"so," will says cracking his knuckles.

"so you and jade," I say moving my head up and down slowly fidgeting with my ring.

"I've been wanting to tell you but I didn't have the time," he says looking down.

"phff yeah right" I look out the window rolling my eyes.

"y/n"

"did that kiss at my house mean anything to you?" I said looking at him

"y/n"

"number 48"

that was my number. I got up and my eyes were watery. Jade comes back and tells me bye and I grab the food and left.

My dad was already outside waiting for me. Will and jade come out after me.

"Woah is that steve Carell?" will say in shock.

"that's y/n's dad," jade says smiling and waving at my dad.

We both got in the car and we drove home just in time for us to prepare the table for dinner with the partridge family.
