Don't worship me,
I'm not a Saint,
Don't trust in me,
I lack restraint.
Don't flatter me,
I don't need words,
Don't preach to me,
You won't get heard.
Don't question me,
I don't like tests,
Don't make a fuss,
Won't be impressed.
Don't learn from me,
I'll get it wrong,
Don't pity me,
I'm too far gone.
Don't heed my words,
I'll lie to you,
Don't fall for me,
I won't be true.
Don't buy a ring,
I can't commit,
Don't make a scene,
I won't submit.
Don't come too close,
I'll back away,
Don't plan for me,
Just seize the day.
Don't pray for me,
It's wasted time,
Don't try to help,
I'll be just fine.
Don't lecture me,
Don't need a speech,
Don't stretch for me,
I'm out of reach.
Don't open up,
I'll close the gate,
Don't wait for me,
I'm always late.
Don't bandage me,
I'm not in pain,
Don't shelter me,
Can't feel the rain.
Don't draw a line,
You know I've crossed,
Don't lead the way,
I am not lost.
Don't counsel me,
Don't want to share,
Don't vie with me,
I don't play fair.
Don't crowd me, please,
I'm on my own,
Don't want a team,
I act alone.
Don't lift me up,
I'll pull you down,
Don't rescue me,
Just let me drown.
Don't count on me,
I won't pull through,
Don't care for me,
Look after you.
