Labyrinth

Labyrinth, in my head.
Path unknown, filled with dread.
Heavy heart, lined with lead.
Burdened by words they said.

I was told, I'm pure sin.
Confidence, wearing thin.
Demon lies, deep within.
Trapped inside, under skin.

No-one can hear me yell.
Purgatory, putrid smell.
Conjured from ghastly spell.
Inferno, flames from hell.

Forward step, my skin crawls.
Confusion, moving walls.
Breathing fast, movement stalls.
Chaos wins, spirit falls.

Perdition, feel the blight.
Dark abyss, blackest night.
Shadows yield parasite.
Stomach whirls, wound up tight.

Not alone, in this maze.
Round each bend, anguish lays.
In the dark, feel its gaze.
Camouflaged, torment stays.

Close my eyes, shed a tear,
How did I, end up here?
Turn around, face my fear,
Suddenly, all is clear.

Shivers slink, down my spine.
Gruesome fiend, face like mine.
Reflection, of my mind.
Our two souls, intertwined.

Replica, spawned from woe,
Sparked from words, long ago.
Toxin in stereo,
Grew to be twisted foe.

Purgatory, mental state,
I had let words dictate.
We can change, not too late.
This self-hate, not my fate.

Energised, brand new goal.
Give myself, what they stole.
Free this beast, free my soul.
Make a choice, make us whole.

Others' views, will not be,
Internal self-decree.
Clarity, now I see.
Take control, set us free.
