She couldn't believe it. "Biana... she joined... them?" "...Yeah. I can't believe..." "She... oh my gosh. I trusted her! We all did! And now she's going to give all of our information to them!" She looked like she wanted to scream.
Or punch something. "I have to go." "Foster-" "Please, leave me alone. I don't want to accidentally... hurt you or something." "...Okay."
Sophie stalked off, towards the Panakes tree. When she was sure she was alone, she sat underneath it and sighed.
"I can't believe... she's been with us for years, and... all the secrets... they could be rewriting their plans... and then we'd be back at square one.
"Not that that actually matters, since we've never known anything they've planned! Ever! GAH!"
She punched the ground. Then a song started echoing through her ears - a new one. Singing of how the strongest trees were different.
How they could see things different. It was like she could hear Calla telling her...
"How they look at the world differently. Biana... Keefe... Tam... they all had that impulsive personality that guides them... in different directions. But in the end, they always come back. They get cut down, but grow back even stronger."
Sophie felt her eyes fill with tears as she heard what could have been her imagination. But it felt so... real.
She felt a soft, warm touch on her hand, and she felt blue and green breezes fill her mind- just like his. Keefe's.
And eventually, with Calla's soothing songs and voice, and the breezes, breezes that she didn't know were coming from the sandy blonde haired boy behind the tree.
She fell asleep, dreaming of trees growing strong, and all her friends, growing through the struggles.
Getting back up. Because that's what they did.
They didn't cower and run away when danger was released. They didn't give up with one blow. They got back up. And fought.
And that's why they were going to win.
She just knew it.
(dam that was powerful)
