Okay, sorry for the interruption, but I just can't with that fanart! By Dragon Winnie Art (she's on youtube and idk what else but she makes the best animatics and YES anyway love the fanart okay bye)

Also just a thing I'm going to say, the chapters are short, but I've already written like fifty of them, so you won't have to wait long in between unless I make you. Which I hopefully won't do much of, because I can just c + p the chapters. But anyway happy reading!)

Keefe hadn't regretted his decision. This was to keep everyone safe. To keep Foster safe. That was the most important thing. He wasn't regretting it... just missing people. Missing Sophie. Fitz. Biana. Goodness, maybe even Ro.

He wished it didn't have to happen. But it did. And he knew he had made the right choice. Where was he, anyway?

He looked around curiously, and he saw,

- A huge tower that looked like it needed reconstruction

- A big flag with red, white, and green

- Way too many humans for his liking.

Now that he could read emotions without trying to, because, y'know, humans... and his dumb ability... I guess I know what it was like for Foster now. Not that he was complaining or anything. Sophie was amazing! ...Okay, maybe he was complaining. But just a little bit. A liiiittle bit. That's all.

He sighed. Now really wasn't the time for thinking about Sophie. If he could do it, he wanted to try to never think about her again. It would keep everyone safe. And... He wanted to try to forget the Lost Cities.

He never would--or could, for that matter--but he needed to try to keep them out of his mind. At least until all this was under control. At least until he could come back.

When would that happen? And... and would it happen? He didn't know. But he had been training himself for a while. And he was making... slow, but slightly steady progress. And... he hoped that he could see them again soon.

And now that he was a Polyglot, he could read the signs everywhere. One good thing about this ability. But the ability was what got him here in the first place... didn't matter.

At least running away wouldn't be quite as hard as it could have. He sighed. How was he going to get food? And if it were as weird as E.L. Fudges... (elf. shaped. cookies.) let's just say he'd have a lot to get used to.

He read one of the signs. Best Gelato in Italy. Italy. Seemed like a nice place. He also wanted to know immediately what gelato was and where he could get it. Without paying. Gosh, he did not plan this well. Or at all. Add this to the long (very long) list of Keefe fails.

He walked over to the sign about gelato and sat on a bench. Maybe it'd be as good as mallowmelt. Who knows? He tried not to wonder if Sophie would.

(yeah yeah, I know it was short, but it was on my phone, so it looked long, okay? And, and, I have sokeefe coming soon. And drama. And ELWIN. And- anyway, point is, I promise it won't completely suck.)
