The Withered Gods

Chapter 6

As Chris and I walk into a town, Ishla and Bark who were walking next to us, both run back into a field while neighing at each other. Chris looks back and shrugs, I do the same, and we continue into the town. As we walk towards the town square, I see the people in the town look like they are suffering. I walk up to a person lying on the floor, "What happened?" I ask, "It....came...took all our....food" he wheezes. "What's it?" Chris asks, the man wheezes more and faints, the ground suddenly begins to rumble, I look around, but see nothing out of the ordinary, then, a giant white beam falls out of the sky and onto the ground. Out comes a projection along with six black skeletons, wearing black armor and carrying stone swords, the projection points toward the center of the town, and four of the skeletons walk in that direction, the other two stand guard, "Hide" Chris whispers jumping to the side, I follow him and lean against a wall, I peak out and see an arrow flying towards one of the guarding skeletons. The skeleton's head falls straight off after being hit and another arrow hits the other one, the projection turns around and narrows its eyes, it points its sword in the air and two yellow heads surrounded by yellow rods appear out of nowhere. They begin to fire small fireballs towards a roof, I try to peek from the corner but can't see what they were shooting at, then out of nowhere, a woman wearing a cloak and holding a bow slides in from a pipe and fires two arrows at the monsters. They both die and the projection narrows its eyes again, and fires a skull at her, I jump forward and cut it in half. It screeches out and the four skeletons rush towards us, the woman fires two arrows and kills two of the skeletons. The other two stop and run back, she chuckles and fires two more arrows and kills them both. The projection runs toward us and attempts to stab the woman, but I block its hit and it narrows its eyes again and shifts its focus towards me, it kicks her back and attempts to swipe at me again, but I block its hit again. The projection winces as an arrow hits it in the shoulder, another arrow flies toward it but the projection puts up its hand and stops the arrow midair, it throws it to the floor and an invisible force pushes me back and the projection runs back to the spot it arrived at. It hits its hands together and a shine surrounds it, the woman gets up and pulls back her bow, the arrow lights on fire as she shoots it, but the arrow disappears as soon as it hits the projection. The projection laughs and the white beam that it arrived in sucks it up again..
