It wasn't until Iris was eleven that she first saw a photo of her maternal relatives.

Soon after moving in with Charlie and his second wife, Iris had noticed the photos on the walls. She had recognised Charlie and a young girl with the same brown eyes as his. That had to be his daughter.

Iris would see the same girl in plenty of photos.

But one of them stuck out the most.

It was a photo of the same girl, holding a toddler in her arms. Not just any toddler. The little one was Iris' mother - Renesmee.

Iris bit her lip, as tears clouded her eyes. Everyone thought she looked like her mother, but the young girl saw none of that. Especially because her mother, the toddler from the photograph, had deep brown eyes.

These weren't Iris' eyes.
