It was official.

Rebecca and Solomon were getting divorced. Their relationship was broken beyond repair. Their age gap and their trouble to find good jobs, alongside the six children who lived at home and needed love and affection had contributed to it all.

Iris hoped that Solomon and Rebecca wouldn't hurt her and her cousins the way Paul and Rachel had done.

On the day of the divorce, however, Iris now aged nine, had been proven wrong.

When Rebecca had been asked what was going to happen to all of the children, all she had done was to shake her head, indifferent:

"I don't want them. I don't want any of them. Get them away from me!"

Iris' heart was broken for the umpteenth time.
