My mother was a wonderful person, a person of warmth, a caring person who was so selfless. Among all the clans in Inazuma, our clan was by far the largest and famous among by the common people. She would give those a second chance, giving them a place to call home at our estate. Our clan is mixed with not only those of [L/n] blood but by different blood.
Although we aren't all connected by blood, we were all a happy family.
So now standing in front of this place, why is everyone so quiet as my gaze is stuck in one place.
"You're doing great!" I could hear my mother's words of encouragement as I fought with one of my siblings.
It was one of those days where she would take a day off and watch us train.
Her voice was so clear as I remember it.
I spar with my older brother who was much taller than me, though at present time, I can barely remember how he looked like. Let alone how he sounded.
Now that I come to terms at how the side effects of the power I've gained, I see how as times passes, my memories slowly become hazy.
That day, I was felt happy when my mother praised me for doing such a good job. My brother ruffled my hair, smiling down at me as I took a sip of water.
My other siblings had gone out due to official business in the city but I was happy to think we could finally have a family dinner together.
That day, Kazuha came to visit and was able to catch a glimpse of my family together, with the exception of my father who was locked away in his room.
We read books together and I can't remember a poem he read for me that day but something tells me it was a beautiful one.
We lived like the children we were, although he was kept in the dark about why our families were brought together, I was more than happy than to live surrounded by them.
"One, two, three."
I mutter quietly as I thrust my arms forward at a normal speed to make sure I don't strain my muscles. My training was different from everyone else, I was taught personally by my mother after seeing that I wouldn't gained a vision.
The rest of my siblings did, so that made me perfect candidate in line to become the heir of the clan after my mother. Everyone around me was supportive except for my father.
It was clear he wanted to be the heir, so when he heard I was first in line, he was furious.
Being the next heir, I was able to meet with important figures such as meeting the elder son in of the clans, which I can't quite remember.
And at some point, I was introduced to the Raiden Shogan, though at that time, she was very different.
"You'll be leaving? For how long?" I asked my mother as I watched her get ready to leave.
"I don't know dear, but I'm sure I'll be back soon." She replied.
I sigh as I look down, "alright, please be careful, okay?"
She smiled at me, a tender look in her eyes and my worries soon faded away. My mother's strength was nothing compared to mine nor anyone else in Inazuma.
Well, beside the Shogan, of course.
"Tomo, make sure she doesn't get into any trouble will I'm gone." She says as she hops on a horse at the front gate.
Kazuha wasn't here since he was roaming around Inazuma like he usually does. Tomo was staying a few days in my clan's estate, he was like family to the people here so we welcomed him with open arms.
"See you soon, my dear daughter!"
So now why after three years, why do I remember those last words she spoke to me in front of her grave?
My hair was soaked as the rain continue to pour down, my hands grip the mud in front of me as I sit on my knees.
"Why!? Why did-"
"Lady [Y/n], it's best if you go back inside, you'll catch a cold-" One of the maids of the estate says as they take a step forward.
"Shut up!" My eyes flash red as grit my teeth in frustration, I look up to the ones surrounding me. "Leave!? Can't I grief in peace!?"
They all look down, their faces clearly showing pity.
"No one here decided to inform me of not only my mother's death but of my siblings as well!?" I shout angrily.
"W-we tried to but-"
I sit down, ignoring how strained my clothes were of mud and rain as I stare dully at the graves in front of me. I hear the crowd walk away but not without hearing a few whispers here and there.
Looking up from my hair that was stuck to my face, I see that one person had stayed in their spot.
I didn't say anything and just look back down.
"...mom..."
Unknown's pov
A pair of ruby eyes stare down at Phoenix who is quietly sobbing on her knees.
'So this is Lady [Y/n], the last remaining of the [L/n] bloodline.' They think as they keep their eyes on her trembling figure.
They carefully kneel down beside her and place a blanket over her shoulders while holding an umbrella to prevent her form getting more soak by the rain.
