Nightmares are nothing new to me, I've dreamt of what could have been if Tomo was still here along with [Y/n].

The year I knew nothing of [Y/n]'s whereabouts, I was hopeless, I felt like a coward that fled from his only responsibility left. I left my bride to be back in Inazuma where I knew that her clan would be in trouble since she had ties with someone like me.

Her mother entrusted me with her and I let her down, but I had no choice....but did I really?

I could have brought [Y/n] with and we could have explored the outside world together.

Countless nights filled with nightmares filled with what could have happened to her clan by the Raiden Shogan. She was a witness to Tomo's punishment after all and was seen running away before Tomo was killed.

In a way, they both had a chance to say goodbye for the final time.

The guilt was eating at me for a whole year until I finally found [Y/n] again but it wasn't a reunion I dreamed of. I witness how much she changed in such a short of time that I almost couldn't believe that she looked so different and mature as if time speed up for her.

Did she ever feel lonely that past year, did she had to living in hiding in fear of being found?

Did she sacrifice her humanity to become the person she is now?

I thought to myself as I look down to see her kneeling down in front of Tomo.

The pain in my chest feels like I'm being stabbed by needles as a single thought ran through my mind as I see her caressing his face with such gentleness.

Deep down, is she still in love with him?

"Hey! Are you okay?" I hear Theresa rushing over to me but I watch the scene in front of me, my eyes unable to look away.

"Did she love me out of pity?"

3rd person

Theresa froze upon hearing this, her hand hovering above Kazuha's shoulder. She looks in the direction he was looking at and watches as this [Y/n] is kneeling on the ground in front of a blonde man.

She grits her teeth before clapping Kazuha out of it, she couldn't believe he was doubting her feelings after all this time.

Kazuha looks up at her, shocked as he holds his stinging cheek.

"How can you doubt her now? Just because she's in front of another man? Isn't he the friend you both lost a year ago, shouldn't you be glad that he's given a second chance?"

She yells as Kiana rushes over, "She truly loves you," she remembers the way [Y/n] looked upon telling her the news back at Watasumi Island. The way her face lit up with pure happiness upon telling her.

"I'll tell Kazuha soon but maybe when this is all done, we'll see up a surprise party."

"Her face lights up everytime she talks about you and especially when...."

Kiana gasps as she spots another familiar figure walk into the destroyed courtyard.

"The 8th Herrscher, she's here." Kiana looks around, "then that means Fu Hua is also here!"

She runs to Theresa and Kazuha, "Theresa! The Herrscher of Sentience has—"

Her eyes grew wide with shock, the realization hits her with fear as she looks Theresa.

"No, that can't be true..." She looks up at the Herrscher and [Y/n] who in the sky, hovering above them. "She can't be....." In the corner of her eye, she sees a flash of purple appear, running in such rapid speed towards the two women in the sky.

The sound of metal hitting each other echos and she looks up to see the god of this land and the 8th Herrscher clashing weapons as she blocks the archon's attack with no effort.

Kiana don't think twice and runs towards them, jumps on the buildings, trying to reach them in time.

Theresa's words echoing in her head like a broken record.

'—she's expecting.'

"I'll save you this time! So please wait for me, [Y/n]!"
