Edited.
I got to school completely pumped this morning. I don't know if it was the 2 cups of coffee or the 2 packets of sour worms but I was totally energetic. Today was the day of the big game and I couldn't wait.
I've practically have been waiting my whole life to play this match. But I was sad too because this was the last game I would ever play with this team. Some of them are going into the big leagues but even though I know I'm great at soccer, I just know that I wouldn't make a career out of it.
So here I am walking into school after dropping Noah off at his locker, with my third packet of sour worms in hand (kind of addicted). I felt as if nothing could get me down but boy was I wrong.
"You know Juliet, I think I saw a hobo wearing the exact same outfit as you." The she-devil herself said. I was wearing a pair of ripped jeans, a baggy crop top and my favourite worn out sneakers.
"You know Barbie," I say mimicking her, "I'd give you a nasty look but I see you already have one."
She scoffs. "Ugh! I'd watch my back if I were you." And with that she walks away with her fellow evil witches following closely behind her.
As I turn around, I bump into someone and drop my beautiful packed of sour worms. Dramatically, I drop down on my knees and fake sob. "You were too young to die. It should have been me, it should have been me."
"Well, someone's a drama queen." The person I bumped into mutters. When I look up I noticed that it was Jared. When he holds out his hands, I grab onto them and hoist myself up.
"We have got to stop bumping into each other." I say while dusting off my pants.
"We should before someone breaks something. Anyway how about I walk you to your locker?" he asks, jerking his thumb behind him where the lockers are located.
"Sure." And with that we make our way to my locker.
"So Juliet, what do you like to do in your spare time?" Jared asks out of the blue.
That answer was pretty easy. "I love to listen to music and to make music." I say with a smile. Ever since I was young I loved music, even more than soccer. It's my passion. But the only people I've sang in front of are Noah, Nora, Daniel and my sister.
"Perfect." He says with a confident smile.
"And why is that perfect?" I question with a raised eyebrow.
"Oh, no reason." He replies with an innocent smile.
Before I can question him further, I realise that we've stopped at my locker, so I push away the questions and open my locker.
When I open my locker, the first thing I see is the familiar red note. With a smile on my face, I remove the charm that is taped to the note. It's a cute black and white soccer ball charm. I quickly put it on the charm bracelet and open the note to see what it says.
Juliet,
Happy 5th day of Christmas. Here is the 5th clue:
A game consisting of 22 skilled players, 1 impartial referee, 2 eagle eyed referee's assistants and one stupid ball.
Your secret admirer
"Aw, little Juliet has a secret admirer." Jared coos, causing me to turn around in surprise. I completely forgot his was there.
"Ugh, Loser. You're just jealous." I retort.
"Yep. You're correct. I'm so jealous that I don't have someone admiring me from afar like a weird stalker." He says sarcastically. Just as I'm about to reply, Noah, Nora and Daniel stop next to us.
