5 Days until Christmas

I woke up feeling that today would be a great day. Mainly because my alarm clock didn't annoy the shit out of me and because everything seemed to be going smoothly. Nothing seems out of place. Everything seems good. Maybe a bit too good.

Before I walk out of the front door I make sure I have everything. Phone? Check. Shoes? Check. Bracelet? Check. When I know that I have everything I make my way towards Noah's car. I hop in turn the music up and we make our way to school. The short journey ends and we both grab our bags, before hopping out of the car.

"Just girls, breaking hearts." I try to sing in a British accent as we walk into the building. Key word: try. Accents have never been my strong point but they sound damn cool.

After dropping Noah off at his locker, I make my way to mine, looking forward to what's behind it today. I open it, expecting to see the red clue card but all I see are my books. Desperately, I move them aside to see if I can find the card between them but it's not there. Maybe I'm just a bit early today. I check the time on my phone and see that it's 7:30. The guys and Nora should be here already.

Just as I'm about to send them a message, I get one from Nora: Meet me outside the girls' bathroom. It's urgent. I quickly grab my books for the first 2 periods and make my way to her.

When I get to the girls' bathroom, I find her leaning against the wall beside the door, on her phone. When she sees me she gives me a sad smile. "Hey Jules. There's something I have to show you."

"Okay. Where are Noah and Daniel?" I ask looking around for them.

"I just texted them now. They're on their way." She says as she makes her way through the back doors of the school towards the stands facing the fields. Without saying another word, I follow after her.

I faintly see the silhouettes of 2 people but I can hardly make out their faces. I know for sure that it's a male and a female.

I look at Nora with a quizzical look but she only puts her index finger against her lips. I hear soft footsteps behind me and turn to see Noah and Daniel walking towards us with angry expressions directed to the 2 people ahead of us. Okay, now I'm really confused. I turn back to look at the unknown two.

As we get closer, their faces become clearer and I stop dead in my tracks. My jaw drops and I can feel a dull stinging in my eyes.

In front of us stand Barbie and Jared. They haven't noticed us yet since they're too busy sucking each other's faces off. All this time I thought that Jared was such a great person but he's just as bad as Barbie. And to think that I thought that he was my secret admirer. What was I smoking? I can't believe that I was blind to all of this. What if Jared was the guy that was in the closet with Barbie last week? Has all this been a joke to him?

"Fucking asshole." Noah mutters under his breath.

"I'm going to kill that bastard." Daniel says angrily.

"I'm going to rip out that bitches fake extensions and make her eat them." Nora says rather dramatically while I stand unmoving and silent.

Just then the first bell rings and the 'couple' finally pull apart, only to look in our direction. Jared's expression turns to one of complete shock and Barbie looks as smug as ever.

A single tear slips from my eye and I quickly wipe it away. Jared stands up and hurriedly makes his way over to me while I stay frozen in place. I don't know whether to go or whether to bitch slap him across the face. His hand reaches out to grab mine but I take a step back and put it behind my back.
