17 The Reunion Part 4

A few minutes after the previous chapter

Narrator's POV:

The gym of Raven Point High was buzzing with conversation and laughter as the old Ravens reunited after 10 years. Light music was played as background music in the cheery and happy atmosphere... and also a bit of a drunk atmosphere. Seniors, in black suits and dresses, walked around with trays of champagne and starters which the old Ravens eagerly took from. There was constant conversation about how great everyone was doing currently and how wealthy they all were. But that was expected from all the students from Raven Point High.

People were taking group pictures to remember the night and a few students were also taking pictures for the school's yearbook. And even though it was still the beginning of the night and there was still a few hours left of the reunion, a few of the women there were already tipsy. But that was supposed to happen since there was overpriced champagne...and a few spiked drinks.

But among all the cheers and cheery atmosphere, there was one table where five people sat in a deep conversation of how two of them met again.

Hiccup's POV:

"...So I confronted him and he dropped the act," Astrid said after a few minutes of explanation.

"And luckily she didn't kill me on site," I commented.

Astrid gave me a side glance, which made me shiver a tiny bit, but continued, "And we started hanging out again. Everyday, after work, we would go to the park with our dogs and just hang out for a few hours. And if we have a few minutes at work, we would also talk a little bit. And we have been doing that for the last few weeks and that is that."

Astrid gave them a look as if to say you may ask questions now. Throughout the whole conversation, the twins and Fishlegs listen to us, intently. They never asked questions, in fear that Astrid might pulverise them, because no one in their right mind would ever interrupt Astrid. She finds it absolutely disrespectful and an insult to herself and her pride. So the twins kept their mouths shut, for once, and kept their full attention to Astrid's and my explanation.

And it's actually funny now that I think about it. I don't think Ruffnut or Tuffnut ever focus so much, ever. And they usually ignored me completely, unless it had to do with a prank, so to have them even give me some attention, was an absolute shocker and a new thing for me. But then again, it also had to do with Astrid and they were pretty close with her.

"Wow," Fishlegs said after the explanation, "I would have never guessed that you would walk into Hiccup's life after you left, Astrid."

The twins nodded and Astrid smiled and looked at me. "I would never have guessed that too, Fishlegs," she replied truthfully, "But I am definitely delighted that I have."

I smiled at her and stared into her azure eyes that were sparkling tonight. They were really the most beautiful pair of eyes I have ever stared into and probably will forever be. And the fact that she was wearing little make-up and a dress that complimented her eyes, made her eyes beyond describable beautiful, tonight.

"I still can't believe you are alive, Hiccup," Tuffnut said, which broke me out of my lock with Astrid's eyes. I looked at him and was about to make a sarcastic comment, but he then abruptly turned towards his sister and said, "Wait, who wins the bet now?"

Ruffnut eyes widened and she looked at her brother, perplexed, and replied, "I don't know. But I am definitely not doing it."

"And I am not doing it either," he argued back and then they started to have their usual arguments, by headbutting each other, poking each other and hitting each other. Pretty normal for twins.
