Third person POV

(Y/n) looked around but she couldn't see anything it was too dark she tried squinting but it didn't help she had guessed that they were in the basement. Ruby's gripped tightened as she buried her face in (y/n)s neck 'ruby always feared the basement.' (Y/n) walked down the basement halls the floorboards creaking underneath her.

She stopped in her tracks a light the size of a flashlight shining flickered in the basement and mr hopps Stood in the light and (y/n) immediately ran across avoiding the bunny. On a small table in-front of the wall sat a tape recorder, (y/n) picked up and read the small note attached to it.

(Y/n) looked at it in confusion and ruby climbed out of her sisters arms and stood next to her holding her hand.

(Y/n) sighed before running back upstairs with ruby trying to keep up. "Sorry ruby but I just wanted to get us out of there." Ruby nodded understanding what her sister was doing she turned around and shut the door before leaving the kitchen with (y/n).

They ran across the hall and back to the front door checking underneath the mirror near it 'not this mirror then.' Ruby ran across stepping on toy making it let out a loud noise (y/n)s heart rate increased as mr hopps stood right behind the sofa where ruby was crouched down.

Mr hopps walked off and (y/n) ran to ruby holding her hand "don't ever do that to me again please." Ruby looked up at her sister and she could see the worry in her eyes "I'm sorry, I won't do it ever again." (Y/n) smiled and they ran across the room over to the door that led into their parents bedroom but they didn't go in. Instead they walked over to the mirror that stood next to it that had a tape recorder under it (y/n) picked it up and began listening to it with ruby.

Tape 1
"September 8th-Jenna, ruby,(y/n) and I went to see Esther yesterday. Ruby and (y/n) always love seeing their grandmother... nana they call her....she's...not been doing so well in recent months. We went round the other weekend and she was just staring at the wall. We had to really shake her to snap her out of it and then she was just fine like nothing had happened. God knows how long she'd been doing that for....we've booked her in for a doctors appointment. I'm supposed to be recording ideas for a new novel."

(Y/n) stared at the tape for a few moments before putting it in her pocket.
