Third person POV
Ruby grabs (y/n)s hand intertwining their fingers and giving her a smile, (y/n) looked down at her returning the smile.
They walked over to the basement door and (y/n) twisted the knob, pulling it open. They walked down the basement steps and into the basement it was quiet a bit too quiet,They turned around and went back upstairs shutting the door behind them.
Before they could even reach the door and clawed hand broke through the floor right in front of the fridge and began reaching up before disappearing.
Ruby's grip tightened and (y/n)s heart rate increased after a couple minutes they both finally calmed down walked over the hole in the ground and out the kitchen.
Ruby looked up at her older sister "maybe we should try the door in mum and dad's room." (Y/n) nodded before walking down the hall and into their parents room. They walked to the end of the room and tried opening the door, still locked.
They left their parents room and went over to the stairs and up into the loft (attic) 'we haven't checked here yet.'
They walked forward ignoring me hopps and reaching a small table with a tape sat on it, (y/n) picked it up and began playing.
Tape
"September 19th-we just had a call. Esther passed away in her sleep. The doctors couldn't give us a diagnosis and even said this sudden passing is bizarre...we will have to tell Ruby and (y/n) when they get home from school. This isn't going to be easy on any of us."
(Y/n) and ruby looked at the tape for a few seconds before (y/n) put the tape in her pocket.
