The next day, I was sat at my usual seat at Island Spice, just like I am every night. I was on my fifth beer and was starting to feel a little woozy. I was watching Charlotte and the rest of the girls do their routine at the front of the restaurant. I couldnt help but think about Phil. The only person in the world who I have read wrong. Why was he so hard to figure out? He seemed like a nice innocent man, considering the way he was dressed and the fact that he doesn't drink. But he was at this club last night, and he is dating a stripper. At first glance, he didn't seem like the type of person who likes all of that stuff. Theres something about him…
My thoughts were disrupted when Charlottle plopped down next to me with a beer. She must have finished the show
"No Phil today?" I asked smiling
"Not today, he had to work late" she replied, taking a sip from her drink
"Tell me 'bout em" I asked turning to her, my vision was a bit blurry
"What? Why?" She asked facing me
"Just curious" I said, finishing my fifth drink and moving on to my sixth
If I find out more about him, I can compare it to what I thought when I first saw him. Hopefully I wont be as wrong as I thought.
"Well, he's a weatherman. He works a lot, its hard for him to get time off. He loves animals, he always talks to me about how much he wants a hamster, but its against our rent agreement-"
"You live…to…together?" Im starting to lose my sense of focus, come one Dan, listen!
"Yeah… anyway he's a real sweet guy. He doesn't drink so he's kind of boring at parties and stuff, but he makes up for it by being AMAZING in bed-"
"That enough! I don't need details on your sex life" I slurred, I could barely understand myself
"Well, you wanted to know about him. By the way, don't drink to much. Its not good for you" She said, walking towards the dressing room
Yeah, like I didn't already know that
I thought about what Charlottle told me. Phil has a job, but considering that he lives with his girlfriend, it must not pay well. His loving of animals just proves his innocence even further. Maybe I wasn't that far off the first time.

I was walking home that night, unable to walk in a straight line as usual. I was still thinking about Phil. Why can't I get him off of my mind? I was very confused, I was also very lost, considering how drunk I was. I sat down for a moment to catch my breath and try to look for familiar things to determine where I was. I found something familiar, but it wasn't what I thought it would be.
It was Phil.
He was walking in my direction, but he didn't see me. His head was down and I could see his black fringe falling over his face. He was wearing a suit and carrying a briefcase, he looked like the classic business man. He looked up and saw me. I had never noticed how blue his eyes were until this moment. They were bright and beautiful… did I just call his eyes beautiful? maybe I do need to lay off the alcohol.
"Dan? Hello?" I head. I spun around and noticed that Phil was now sitting on the bench next to me. How did he get there?
"Wha…how did you, get, there?" I ask, very confused
"You just called me over like ten seconds ago" he said, also sounding confused
Did I really just do that?
"Ohh, I guess I did" I say, pretending to remember
"You need to lay off the booze, man" Phil says, sounding concerned.
Phil was worrying about me, but why? We barely know each other.
"For your information, I have not had aaannnnyyyy booze todaaay, only b…beer" I say, starting to feel sleepy
"Good for you" he says sarcastically, I think
"Soooo, whats goin' on with you toniighhtt?" I say laughing a little
"Nothing good, I had a bad day a work" He says, trying to get his hair out of his eyes
"What happened?" I ask, actually trying to listen this time
"Well, Im a weatherman, a really bad one actually. My boss said that if I predict the weather wrong one more time, then I'm getting fired"
"YOURE GETTING FIRED? Woooooaaaaahhhh, you really did have a bad day" I say, frowning
"No! I said that I WILL get fired if I fail the next time I give the weather report on tv"
"YOURE GONNA BE ON TV? WOW THATS SO COOL, CAN I COME WITH YOU?"
"Are you even listening to me? How drunk are you?"
"A lot" I say, with a huge grin on my face"
"Okay, well, do you need anything?" Phil asks nicely
"Im lost"
"Where are you going?"
"My house"
"How the hell do you not know where your own house is?"
"I don't know, Im lost"
"You said that already, just tell me your address and ill get you a cab"
"I don't remember my address, thats my problem!" I yell. Phil wasn't getting the issue I don't think
"Jesus Christ" he says, burying his head in his hands
"Wait! I think its.. over there…"

I woke up in my apartment the next morning, hungover as fuck. I couldn't even remember how I got there. I walked over to my kitchen to get some food, and I noticed a note taped to my fridge, and suddenly, I remembered everything:
Dan,
You passed out last night when you were with me. I didn't want to leave you alone or put you in a taxi since you were passed out, so I carried you around on my back trying to find someone that knew you. You were on your street Dan, so you weren't exactly lost. Your neighbor helped me out and used a spare key to get you into your apartment. Thats how you ended up there, if you don't remember.
Oh, and Dan? Try to take better care of yourself. I won't always be there to carry you around whenever you are too drunk to function.
Phil
