Chapter 3

Previously on Chapter 2

My eyes eventually starts to flutter close. I snuggle closer to Edmund's warmth. I let myself drift off to sleep.

-Where Are We?-

Y/N P.O.V

"Y/N... Y/N wake up!" Someone said. I slowly open my eyes to see Edmund looking at me with a worried expression. He let out a sigh when he notice that I'm awake.

"Oh thank goodness..." he said, sounding relieved. I furrow my eyebrow in confusion. "What?" I said. He helps me to stand up. That's when I realize we are on a island.

"You weren't waking up... I've been trying everything to wake you. I was so worried and you have a fever" he said, holding me as if I'm going to fall over. Well, I do feel dizzy right now. So if he didn't hold me... I would have.

"Where are we?" I asked. "I don't know..." he said, turning to look around. I let out a sigh and place my head on his shoulder. He place his hand on my back.

"Are you okay?" He said. "I'm dizzy..." I said. "Get on my back..." he said. "Aren't you tired, Ed?" I said. He shakes his head. "I can still carry you, Y/N... come... we need to go look for help..." he said. I just nod my head.

He turns around and crouch down to make it easier for me to get on his back. I wrap my arms loosely around his neck. He place his hands on the back of my knees to hold me so I won't fall of his back. He starts to walk towards a random direction because neither of us know where to go.

I place my chin on his shoulder, as my sight slowly grows blurry. "Your body is burning up... just hang in there, Y/N. I'll find some help for you, okay?" he said. I just nod my head slowly in response.

Edmund P.O.V

I have to look for help. Y/N's body slowly getting a lot hotter. If I don't find help... Y/N would've... no! I shouldn't think like that. I'm going to find help... no matter what it takes. Y/N will be alright.

Y/N's arms grow loose. It fell of from my shoulders. I quickly try to balance her so she won't fall from my back. I look around to see a rock not far from where I'm standing. I slowly walks towards it and gently place Y/N down. I quickly turn around to catch her before she fall.

I hug her closer to my chest. I can feel her shivering even though her body is hot. I bit my lips in worry as I look around the place, trying to look for a shelter.

I found a cave and pick her up in my arms. I walk to the cave and get inside. I gently place Y/N down and sit next to her. I pull her closer, letting her lean on my body.

I place a soft kiss on the side of her head. "Please be okay, Y/N..." I whispered softly. I move to lay down, keeping Y/N close to me. I close my eyes and slowly drift off to sleep.

Time-skip

Y/N P.O.V

I wake up to the feeling of warmth around me. The embrace makes me feel comfortable. I open my eyes to see Edmund. He's still asleep.

He opens his eyes and notice that I'm awake. "You're awake... are you feeling better?" He said. "Still a little dizzy... but I'll be fine" I said. He just nods his head, still looking at worriedly.

"We have to continue walking..." I said. He nods his head. He stands up and crouch in front of me. "I can walk..." I said. He turns to look at me. "Are you sure, Y/N?" He said. I nod my head, smiling softly at him. He nods his head. "Alright... lets go..." he said. I nod my head. Then we start to walk.

He's making sure that I'm walking within his reach, in case I lose balance and fall over. I notice he have his sword with him.

"You manage to save your sword?" I said. "Ah... yes, it was on top of the ruins..." he said, looking down at his sword. The word ruins, reminds me that I failed to rescue the others. I look down as we continue to walk.

"Hey... by the look on your face... I know what you're thinking right now. You're blaming yourself for their death, right?" He said, gently placing a hand on my shoulder. I just nod my head slowly at his question.

He stops walking and gently turns me to face him. I keep my eyes downcast. He place his hands on my shoulders. "Look at me..." he said. But I didn't move, my eyes still looking at the ground beneath me.

I feel a hand on the side of my cheek, then my head is tilted up to meet his eyes. "It's not your fault... I know you want to rescue them more than anything. So stop blaming yourself..." he said. I stare at him as tears starts to pool up in my eyes.

His eyes soften as he smiles sadly at me. He place a hand on the back of my neck, gently pulls me closer. I place my head on his chest. I wrap my arms loosely around his waist as I cry softly.

How can I call myself a Queen when I failed to safe my people? Why do I have to be so weak? If only I'm stronger... they would still be here.

"I'm so useless... I'm not worth to be a Queen" I said, crying softly. Edmund pulls away from me and cups my cheeks gently. "No... Y/N... no, that's far from the truth... you ARE worthy to be a Queen. It is not your fault... please stop blaming yourself. You're hurting me" he said. "Sorry..." I said. "Don't apologize..." he said, gently wiping my tears softly.

"Come on... we have to keep walking" he said. I just nod my head. He gently holds my hand and we walk our way up the hill. Edmund keeps holding my hand, in case I might slip.

After a lot of struggle. Edmund is the first to reach the top. He turns to me and grabs my hand, pulling me with him. We finally made it to the top. "Thank you, Edmund..." I said, smiling at him. He smiles at me. I turn my head to look into the distance. My eyes widened when I realize what is in front of us.
