Amanda's POV
After we got home Jason and I traced the judge who convicted Alex. We had a hard time convincing him to renegotiate the matter, but we succeeded. I think he knows the truth, too. We just have to wait a week. I went to Liz a few times before, but I didn't tell her anything about it because I didn't want her to stop me. When the time came Jason called me on the phone to come for us. I stopped at the bottom of the stairs and looked at the creature sitting in the armchair, which I need to call mom who lied to everyone and persuaded everyone to lie for her.
The door opened and at least seven policemen entered the door behind them with Jason. Two of them walked next to her.
"Excuse me." One of them said.
"What does that mean?" My mother looked at them slowly in shock.
"I'm Joseph. Queen, you have to come with us. They renegotiate the case of James Nelson."
"Why? I didn't do anything." She looked at the ground. "I ask you to leave." She stand up but didn't look at them.
"It is our duty to take you to the trial." He said and he put handcuffs on her hands.
"I will fire you all out!" She screamed. "Amanda. My sweet daughter." I had to grab the stair railing because I felt like I was fainting. "Tell them I didn't do anything." I bowed my head and focused on the railing.
"You need to know anything you say can be used against you in court. I'm sorry, Queen." He said and they began to lead her out the door.
"Therefore, you are paid ugly and so are you." She looked at me with a crazy look.
"Are you ok?" Jason touched my shoulder.
"It was a bad idea. Jason..."
"Amanda." He touched my both shoulders. "You are afraid. I know but this is so correct. It wasn't Alex." He looked at me seriously. I hugged him.
"Can we go princess?" Two policemen remained only here. I looked at Jason and I nodded.
I trembled all the way and looked out the window remorsefully. We arrived after a while.
"We are here." A policeman opened my door. I took a deep breath and got out of the car.
"We will be sitting in the back. Since we haven't seen the case, so we don't have to talk." Jason said. I nodded. "Everything will be fine."
I saw a couple of people outside and Melanie and the others. I owe them a lot for that.
"We need to go in." James said so we went in.
Entering the building, we were screened that we didn't have anything dangerous. Any phone or other device with which image or sound recording could take place we had to give it to a man because it is a closed trial. Then we headed for the door.
"Listen." Jason said and grabbed my shoulder near the door. "What you do is right. It took a lot of courage to be here now. There will be nothing wrong."
"I know. I feel like I have to choose from my parents. As if I have to face one of them because the other." I stared the floor.
"That's exactly what you need to do, but that's right. James would be proud of you now." I nodded and we entered the room and sat down.
First Alex and his lawyer came in then my mom and hers. I don't think I need to say how she looked at me and the others when she saw us sitting behind Alex and not behind her. I tilted my head and I hoped it was over soon. Jason squeezed my fists clenched encouragingly. I just listened and listened then once only the judge said they made the decision.
"In view of the foregoing and on the basis of the testimony of the witnesses, we do not find the accused guilty." The judge said.
I looked at Jason, who was staring at me and stood up to go forward.
"What is she not guilty?" Jason asked angrily.
"Sir, the trial is over. The accused isn't guilty." He said.
"Witnesses told everything is not enough?" Jason asked.
"Witnesses cannot be minors and there is not enough evidence to prove this, so the case is closed." He said stood up and walked back. Jason walked towards me puzzled, and those around me began to walk out of the room.
I looked at Alex, whose head I saw with his head down. I looked at mom, who, despite her serious expression, had a smile on the edge of her mouth. How could she get away with the case so easily when she was suddenly captured and taken away?
"I'm sorry Amanda." I heard Jason's voice, but I thought about the solution, then, like a lightning strike, it ripped through me.
"Give me your phone." I turned and spoke so suddenly that he didn't object.
"John! I'm Amanda. Can you access the cameras?" I said impatiently.
"Yeah." He said.
"The recording should be from the night James...died." There was a hum from the end of the other side. "John? John?" I asked. Nobody answered.
"I can't believe it." I whispered and put the phone next to me.
"We sorry Amanda." Liam prince said. I shook my head and stood up to walk out.
"Where are you going?" Jason appeared next to me.
"To the castle." I said.
"Maybe I'll take you there?" I nodded. "Do you want to find the recording?" I didn't answer. He sighed.
I entered the castle. luckily mom was nowhere but I didn't know what to do now.
"And now?" He asked. I shrugged.
I headed in different directions then up the stairs. meanwhile, people were amazed and asked what they wanted, but I didn't answer. Then we reached Paul's office.
"Princess?" He asked while he was checking his phone. I began to swing out his closets and looked at me with raised eyebrows. "Are you searching something?" I was still silently researching and accessing his desk drawer that I couldn't open.
"I command you to open it." I said seriously.
"These are my personal belongings." He said.
"Paul open it now!"
"No!" He smiled. "You can't get everything you want little princess." He leaned close to me. I hit his face in anger. "Hey!" He stood up but James grabbed his fist. On the table I saw a key that quickly opened the drawers.
"Nothing." I whispered and started at the papers. Paul yanked his hand out of Jason and sat back down.
"You need to go now. I have work." He said and started writing.
I walked to the door in frustration. All of a sudden, I heard something click.
"Oops sorry." I heard Jason.
"You unfortunate stupid." Paul said and he went to pick up the pieces.
The large green vase lay broken on the floor and there was something black rectangle between the pieces. I bent down and picked it up. It was written exactly the date we needed.
"Sorry Paul! We buy another instead don't worry about it. We need to go now! Sorry for bothering!" I said and walked out.
"What?" Jason asked and I show him what I found.
