Amanda's POV
It's been two months since the funeral. Liz's family was there at the funeral. I kept a fair distance from them because I had to do that. I wanted so much to go to Liz and Noel, who cried hugging each other, but I didn't. I just looked forward angrily blaming myself for what had happened and Alex for doing so with his own brother.
'Why don't you pick up the phone?' I read Jason's message. He has been sending this one line every day for about two weeks and I erase his message every single day because I can't believe he don't understand that I want to be alone. Footsteps slapped my ears.
"Okay! If you don't reply to my messages then I will come." He said and he leaned against the door frame.
"How did you get in?" I asked in a dry voice.
"Strangely no one objected to me coming in here. For sure, because they know me." He said and I started crumpling my blanket with my hands.
"Yeah. I forgot." I mumbled.
"Have you ever seen your mom?" He asked.
"Since the funeral, I don't really feel like meeting or talking to anyone." I said.
"She is so weird." He said.
"Hm?" I looked up at him.
"She sits there in the foyer on the armchair and stares the window. She didn't even respond to my greeting, just looked at me, but didn't say anything and turned back." He said.
"What do you expect? To jump out of her skin with the joy because you being here? Why are you here anyway? I thought if I didn't reply to your messages it's clear enough that I don't want to talk to anyone." I mumbled tiredly. I have no desire to quarrel.
"I visited Alex." He said.
"Don't say that name anymore. Get out!" I screamed and I threw a pillow at him.
"He didn't do it." He said.
"Really? Who did it then, Jason?" I asked angrily.
"I don't know. He wants to talk with you." He said. I got up from the bed and started walking towards him. I was almost there, but I was a little dizzy and grabbed my head. "Are you okay? Sit down please. I'll get a glass of water."
"I want to see her." I said after I drank the water.
"See..." He said but stuck.
"I want to see Liz." I said.
"So, you won't talk with him?" He asked. I shook my head. Actually, Liz didn't write, didn't call and I have no idea what's up with her. "So you're just walking out?"
"Now for once I will ask that I can go out. Her answer won't be no, but it's worth a try." I said and I walked out. I need her. I need silent and piece. I don't want to think about what happened.
"Mom. Can I go to Liz's house?" I asked. She mumbled something but didn't looked at me. I looked at Jason questioningly. He was right, but it is possible that she was more shaken by what had happened because she saw it.
I walked to the door and looked at her before I opened the door. She was still staring at the wall without any kind of reaction, so I opened the door and with Jason's car we went to see Liz.
"Are you coming in too?" I asked. Jason shook his head.
"I know when I have to go. You need her now." He said while he looked at the car steering wheel.
"Thanks." I said.
"That I brought you here? It's nothing." He smiled faintly.
"No that you are my friend." I said.
"I left you." He mumbled.
"But you came back." I said.
"Don't be so emotional because I'm going to cry." He pretended to wipe away his tears. I hit his arm.
"I hate you so much." I smiled. He smiled too.
"I love you too. As a friend. I don't want anyone to hunt me because I took her bride." He said.
"So, she told you." I blushed.
"Yes. I don't know this girl so much and I don't know how much she's changed, but if she will hurt you and I don't care about Amanda that she's a girl, she'll be in trouble." He said seriously.
"Ok. I will go and tell her." I said.
"Don't. Funnier if she doesn't know about it." I rolled my eyes, and I kissed his face.
"We will see each other. I'm going." Without waiting for an answer, I got out of the car, and I pushed the doorbell. I didn't want to break in.
"Amanda?" Kimberly asked with tired voice.
"Hello. I thought I'd visit Liz. Don't worry, my mom knows about it." Even if she didn't react. Kimberly nodded and she stood aside so I could come in.
"Princess?" Lily asked after she saw me. She sat in one of the chairs and ate Nutella bread with Cody. Their faces were pure chocolate. I went behind them and hugged them. "Do you want some?" She asked.
"I think I'll skip it." I smiled faintly. She shrugged and continue her food.
I went into Liz's room to see if she was inside. There she laid on the bed wrapped in the blanket. I laid next to her and looked down at her. I'm sure I look as tormented as she is. I put my arm around her waist and she automatically came closer. The smell was so reassuring that I didn't even notice and fell asleep. Maybe I slept for a few hours when I realized someone was caressing my back. I slowly opened my eyes and found myself facing a tired pair of blue eyes.
"Hi." I whispered and I kissed her lips.
"Sorry to wake you up!" She whispered too. I shook my head. She came even closer and tilted her head to my chest.
"How come you are here?" She asked.
"Jason brought me but calm down I told my mother." I said.
"Hm." She mumbled.
"Jason talked with Alex." I don't know why I said this, but I can't get this out of my head. Liz tensed a little when I mention his name.
"And?" She asked.
"Alex said he didn't do it." I whispered.
"Yet who would have done it? Ridiculous. Every criminal denies what they did. Don't believe it." She said.
"You think?" I asked.
"Yeah, but I want to rest with my bride now." She mumbled.
"I didn't really even ask you to officially marry me." She looked at me.
"Do you mean a ring?" I nodded. "I can't believe you did that."
"We haven't even celebrated." I licked my lower lip.
"Oh, Amanda. You just spoiled the moment." She poked my collarbone grimly. I sighed.
"Do the others already know?" She shook her head. "No problem. Without the ring it is not valid anyway."
"You asked and I will marry you. Accept it. With or without ring. You won't get rid of me for a while." She smiled.
"I don't want to." I said and she leaned over my lips and kissed me.
