Why now?

Ethan woke up the next morning and sighed, going to take a shower. He heard Mark up making breakfast. He let out a small sigh "Yesterday was the most embarrassing day of my life" he said as he covered his face. He got in the shower and relaxed, letting the hot water sooth him as he started to think about things. Anything but mark. He had to get his mind off of mark.

He stayed in the shower for around an hour until he turned it off and stepped out. Getting dried off he then dressed in some nicer clothes. He did his hair and walked out "Morning mark!" He said in a voice full of false cheer.

Mark looked over "Oh good morning Ethan, you look nice. You got plans or something?"

Ethan looked down.. fuck he had to think of something quick.. "Y-Yeah! I uh.. I got a date!"

Mark's happy expression wavered slightly but quickly turned back into a smile "Oh well cool! I hope things go well." He turned away from Ethan... Did he miss his chance?? Should he have said something sooner?? Why was this happening now? Things seemed to be going great.

Ethan kept his eyes on the floor "Yeah I should go so I'll be back in a few hours" he then walked out. "Why did I say that oh my god I'm an idiot..I just ruined any chances I had with him..curse my stupid brain.

He sighed "Well I said I'd be gone a few hours so I guess I should do something for now.." he said as he walked around. Soon making his way to a small cafe. Seemed quiet and nice honestly. Maybe he could just stay there for a while. He ordered a drink and a cookie and sat down at a table waiting for the food.
  After a little while the food got there and he just played on his phone and ate calmly until he heard someone

"Uhm.. excuse me are you here alone?" The man asked with a small smile. He looked up from his phone. The guy was taller than him but not by much. His green hair seemed nice.

"Yeah I kinda lied to my roommate and said I had a date and that I wouldn't be back for a few hours" he chuckled

The man laughed "Oh wow, so you're gonna be here a while then hm?" He sat down on the opposite side of him "Well would you mind if I kept you company? My name is Sean but you can just call me Jack"
