prologue

"hunter?!" their voice yelped throughout the void. ivorious clawthorne was a human. they had tripped into the boiling aisles, similar to another known human. "hunter, this isn't funny!" themself and the golden guard had been sent out on a mission from the emperor.

or so the human thought.

while walking on a path, ivory fell into a hole. "oh, i know, ivorious." the boy laughed, in a low tone. he stood on the edge of the large hole. "but i'm just doing the mission."

"i don't get it." ivory replied.

"you are the mission."

hunter's face was hidden under his golden mask, but they could see right through it. he had his bitter smirk on. ivorious's eyes grew. "so this was the plan the entire time, huh?" their arms were crossed and below their chest. "get me to be your friend, give you answers about the human world, and then kill me off like a pig for bacon."

"yeah, pretty much." hunter answered. he didn't know what a pig or what bacon was, but they were right.

"y'know," ivory said, taking a seat on the ground, "if you're going to kill me, just do it."

"what?"

"kill me. it's your mission right? so do it."

"you- you want me to do it?"

the human groaned. "do you want to get killed by your uncle?"

the powerless witch raised his staff at them. the red stone on the point, glowed a bright. "i can't."

with that, the red glow died off and the golden boy ran away.
