"How long have you had horses?" I thought about it and then answered Arthur.

"Probably about 8-9 years." I answered.

"Wow, that's long, who was your first horse?" I tensed. I thought of the man when I thought about Philip.

"Philip. He- died- recently. Wolf got him.." I looked down and heard someone trot up next to me. I looked up and saw Bella and Max giving me reassuring smiles. I smiled back, they always knew how to cheer me up. Even if it was just a smile.

"He's in a better place now, Lucy, it's okay." I heard Alice say.

"Thanks guys." I said and felt better. We continued our trail ride and I answered as many questions that Max's and Bella's parents asked. At the end of the trail ride we went back to the stables and got Lemon and Sandy put in their stalls. I didn't see Connor and Ducky anywhere.
Phoenix was the last one out since I had to help the others first, so I decided I might as well take him for a short fifteen minute trail ride. But before I did that I remembered the neighbor's horses.

"Mama, can you take the neighbor's horses home while I'm taking Phoenix for a fifteen minute walk?" I asked her.

"Go ahead, we'll be at the house when you're back." I nodded and saddled Phoenix again. We headed towards the trail and started our walk.

After about five minutes, I got off of Phoenix to grab a big branch out of the pathway. I looked up to see if it was the wind that knocked it down but sadly there he was, the werewolf.

"Ah, nice to see you again, Lucy." He climbed down the tree and stood by Phoenix.

"Pretty horse. Phoenix, is it?"

"Don't hurt him." I glared at the man while I got onto Phoenix.

"I told you to stay away. Don't bother following me." I started to ride towards home and didn't realize that he was following me until I heard footsteps following. I started trotting on Phoenix to get away from the man, then heard him speed up so I galloped and just made my way directly to the house.

"Mama! Pa!" I tied Phoenix to a pole and ran inside.

"Mama! Someone's in the forest!" I yelled as I ran into the dining room. I didn't tell them he was a werewolf, they would think I'm crazy.

"What?!" I nodded and ran outside. He was no where to be found.

"He was just here I-"

"Ah, Lucy, I see you brought your family along." He came out from behind a tree and smirked.

"Who are you? Why are you following my daughter?" Ma questioned him with fury as I untied Phoenix and walked behind where mama was standing.

"Tsk-tsk-tsk. No hello? Sad. Aren't you wondering why I killed your daughter's horse?"

"What are you talking about?" The man looked at me and smirked.

"You didn't tell them did you? They would've thought you were crazy, that's what you were thinking, huh."

Everyone looked at me, I looked at everyone, except Connor.

"Where's Connor?" I asked mama.

"I don't know I haven't seen him since we came back." She said, I didn't believe her.

"You're lying." She looked bewildered.

"What?"

"Don't talk to your mother like that." Pa said sternly.

"You both never told me, I had to go and find out from a psychopath that werewolves are real!"

Everyone looked at me in shock, except Max and Bella.

"We heard you, Max, Bella, and I!" They nodded at me.

"Lucy, we were going to tell you when you were older."

"Why couldn't I know no-"

All of a sudden we heard a howl. I turned around and saw the man in wolf form. That was his plan, to tear us apart then attack.
I gasped. He was looking at Phoenix, then me, then his eyes stayed at me.

"Stay away. Don't hurt us." I started moving away with Phoenix. The wolf followed. I gulped and saddled Phoenix.

"Get you're horses, mama, pa, get everyone on theirs, get Max's and Bella's parents with you guys, take them somewhere safe, don't come back until I say. Please, trust me."

Ma hesitated. "Alright, be careful, Luc." I nodded. After they left I turned back to the wolf.

"What do you want from me?"

"You don't know, little birdie?"

I looked at him confused. One, how could I hear him, he's a wolf, two, why was he calling me birdie? Again, he snickered. I don't get why he always does that, but it's creepy. Especially coming from a wolf's mouth.

"Birdie?" He asked me, as if trying to see if I get hat he means.

"Why are you calling me that? I'll ask you again, what do you want from me?" I tried sounding confident and it kind of worked.

"So they haven't told you? Well, I won't tell you either." He started growling and making his way towards me, but then a miracle happened.
