We just got back from back-to-school shopping and now I was in the stables with Philip. I was worried that something might happen to him, even though mom was checking on him every 15 minutes as she promised.
"I'm happy you're safe, Philip. I never would have forgiven myself if something were to actually happen to you.."
Philip looked at me then laid down. I smiled and laid down next to him, my head on his stomach as if it was a pillow. Before I knew it, I was fast asleep.

"Wake up, Lucy. You need to get ready for school."
I opened my eyes and stared at my smiling mom. School. Right, need to shower and get ready. I groaned then got up and quickly walked to the house not wanting to be late. I went into the bathroom and jumped in the shower, then got ready for school after.
I walked downstairs and sat down for breakfast. "Morning mom. Morning dad."
"Morning Lucy." My parents said at the same time.
"Ready for school?"
"Ready as I'll ever be." We left the house after I finished and got into dad's car. I hope Philip will be ok while I'm at school.
We got to the school and I said goodbye to dad as I walked in the school building.
I went up to the receptionist and got a schedule for my classes.
1st period- Math
2nd period- Science
3rd period- ELA
4th period- Lunch
5th period- Electives
6th period- Music
New school, more years. Hope I can make it through these school years.
I felt someone shove me to the ground as I was walking to my class.
Did someone just-
I got up from the ground where I had been shoved.
"Excuse me, but that was very rude." I looked at the person's face, it was a he. A mean looking he. He was tall and you could tell he played a sport. He had blonde hair with blue eyes and was wearing a dark blue shirt with jeans. I immediately regretted saying what I said. I then walked away, my face red as a tomato from embarrassment and anger. I walked to class, and took a seat where the teacher, Ms. Finnish, told me to sit. Ms. Finnish sure is a weird name. I thought to myself as I walked to my seat. I wonder if she actually is Finnish.
As I reached my seat, I froze in my tracks. Guess who I have to sit next to. Him, the guy who shoved me earlier. I walked to my seat and sat down avoiding looking him in his eyes, or looking at him at all. I could tell he was staring at me. I looked at him for a quick second to see that I was right. The creep was staring at me. He tried passing me a note but the teacher saw him and took it. I looked away and shook my head, waiting for the bell to ring.
I was so happy when the bell rang. 1 class down, 5 more to go. Next, science class.
I was luckily only in 2 classes with the guy who shoved me, math and music. I sat behind a girl with blonde braids and a sparkly pastel blue skirt with a black poodle on it, her shirt a white color with a picture of a horse that looked like Philip. I saw her walk into the classroom after I had sat down.
The teacher said we could do what we want so I introduced myself to the blonde haired girl. "Hi, I'm Lucy."
"I'm Isabella. I'm a sophomore here."
"I'm a freshman. And," I pointed to her shirt, "I have a horse that looks like that at home."
"Really? I have dogs and pigs and the other normal farm animals but not horses." She made a fake pouty face and I laughed.
"You should come to my house after school! Even if we just met, it'll be really fun! My parents and I have our own horses, so you can ride my mom or dad's!"
"Alright, but first we should text our parents and make sure it's ok." I agreed and we both texted our parents, they said it was alright. After that, we decided to ride the bus to my house after school ended, then we talked until the bell rang.
I told her I'd see her later, and grabbed my stuff, then I walked to ELA. I sat down and the teacher told us to do whatever. How do these teachers get jobs!? I wondered as I sat in my seat, staring at the ceiling for god knows why, making random thinking faces. A random boy came up to my seat and asked me if I was ok, asking why I'm staring at the ceiling. I said I was fine, just bored to death.
"Haha, same here."
I looked at him and smiled a little. He continued, "Hey, you have any horses?"
"Yeah, how'd you know?"
"You look like a horse girl, plus I like horses myself."
"Yeah, you should come to my house later and we can ride horses, my friend Isabella is coming as well."
"Sounds good, though we should probably ask our parents first." I nodded and told him my parents wouldn't mind. His parents said that it's alright with them. After talking for an hour or so, the bell rang and we walked to our lunch. We were talking when he invited me to sit with him. I said yes, then I heard Isabella call my name.
"Hey Lucy!"
"Heya Isabella."
"Call me Bella, I like it better."
"Alrighty, anyway, what's up?"
"Nothing much, I'm ready to go home."
"Same honestly." One of Bella friends, I guessed, had said.
"I'm going to sit with-" I paused since I noticed I never asked the kid's name.
"Max." He said, and I nodded.
"Yeah. Max. You guys wanna sit together?" I asked them both.
"Why not?" Bella said and smiled at us.
"Sounds like a plan." He smiled a smile that could light up anyone's day. We sat down and ate lunch while talking about animals and other stuff until the bell rang.
We said our goodbyes and I walked to my electives class. This was going to be probably the easiest class that we ACTUALLY did work in. It's called Speech and Debate. I love writing speeches! So when we were assigned to write a speech about what we treasured most, I was very excited and happy, especially since the thing I treasure most is Philip! The teacher said we would present the speeches on Friday, this week. I worked on my speech through the whole class until the bell rang, when class ended, I knew I had music next, and straight after the bell rang, I was outta there and in in the music room in an instant.
I sat down at my seat and waited for the music teacher, Mr. Willis, to enter the room and tell us what to do. A few minutes later, he entered the room, asking us who knew how to play the ukulele. I raised my hand, and noticed I was the only one.
"Well then, that's great and fits my lesson plan. Today we will see your music talents. Lucy, would you like to play something for us?" I said yes and he handed me a ukulele. I love playing instruments for people, so I was extremely excited.
I saw the guy looking at me, the one who shoved me, I also saw Bella, Bella's friend, and Max. I tuned the uke, ukulele for short, and played "Someone You Loved" by Lewis Capaldi. I could see the astonishment in everybody's eyes, even Bella's, though I told her I played the uke earlier during science while we were talking, and had showed her a video, she was astonished. Mr. Willis had me continue to play Someone You Loved on the uke while the rest of the class sang it, one by one. Mr. Willis said I had real talent and that I should join the Annual Talent Show later in the year. I told him I will. I plan on telling my parents when I get home since I'm so excited.
The bell rang and I said goodbye to Mr. Willis and met up with the other two, packed up my bookbag, got on the bus, and went to my house.
Before we got to my house, Max, Bella and I had a conversation.
"Hey, you never told me your name."
"Oh- my apologies, I'm Lucy, and this is Bella." I gestured to Bella.
"Nice names." He said.
"Thanks." Bella and I replied.
Just then we arrived at my stop. "This is our stop. Follow me."
We walked to my house and I introduced them to mom. "Mom, this is Max and Bella. Bella and Max, this is my mom."
She smiled. "Nice to meet you guys, I'm Elizabeth."
"Nice to meet you Elizabeth, I'm Isabella, or Bella for short."
"I'm Max, nice to meet you."
"Lucy," she turned to face me, "why don't you take your bookbags to your room then take them to the stables. Then you can show them which horse to ride." My mom knows me so well. I did message her though. I giggled to myself in my head.
We walked to the stables after I had taken the bookbags upstairs, then showed them which horses they would be riding. They saddled onto their horses while I got on Philip and showed them onto the normal route Philip and I go on each morning. We talked while we rode.
"So, Lucy, where'd you get your horse and, may I ask, what is his name?"
I slightly turned toward Max and said, "My grandma got Philip for me when I was 6, she died when I was 10, so Philip is all that's left of her." I smiled at the thought of grandma and her smiling face looking down at me from the heavens.
We talked the rest of the ride.
"I think we should get going back to your house, Lucy," said Bella motioning towards the dark sky, "it's getting pretty late."
"Yeah, I suppose so." Max and Bella looked at me as I started to say something, but I hesitated.
"How about you guys spend the night?" I finally said.
They agreed and they texted their parents, who said to ride with my dad and I to school. I then told them to follow me to put the horses back in the stable, then they went to ask my parents since I told them I was going to stay behind to feed the horses a carrot before heading in.
A few minutes passed and I was still outside, I was just about to walk inside when I saw a wolf. His eyes were blue as the night sky. He was like none I have ever seen before. I wonder why he's here...
I walked closer to the wolf, ever so slowly, I almost reached him when he growled, then I looked at what he was growling at, it was another wolf.
I ran inside, looking back every few seconds to make sure Philip was safe from the wolves.
I reached the house and was soon flooded with questions like, "Where have you been?", and, "what took you so long?" I told them Philip was in danger when something happened, something bad that I didn't expect... Ever.
